This is something I posted in an Iboga-related forum as well, but I feel it belongs here, too:

~~~
I've recently gotten into the quid method with Salvia, and it's a very powerful experience. When it gets strong, it actually reminds me of Iboga in certain ways. I think the kappa-opioid agonism facet of Iboga might be a prominent part of its overall effect.
It's really hard to put into words the similarities, but I'll try anyway:
The "story-ness" of reality
Being presented with various windows into different stories/realities
The clearing of the mind
The deconstruction of Time
The ability to view one's own thoughts and intentions clearly
The anti-addictive effect
The clearheaded, anti-depressant effect, afterwards
The deep connection to the core of the Earth, and darkness.
The impulse/message to Lie Down and Close Your Eyes
<3 using Salvia divinorum as a teacher plant
I just want to start a discussion on the similarities and possible synergy between Iboga and Salvia.
How intimidating was iboga for you? I want to try it soon but i've been pretty nervous that its gonna completely kick my ass
Have you ever met "The sage goddess of the leaves" or whatever her name is?
I've never met an entity that was "The" entity, but I've felt many different female presences/personalities. Very rarely a male one. Maybe once.
How much did you do? I have 3g of TA that i was planning on taking, which should be strong but i dont wanna take any less because i want it to be profound. Is it pretty easy to let go of negative feelings and turn a bad trip into a positive one or will I be completely helpless to the iboga spirit?
I'll answer your questions but I'd really like to stay on the topic of this thread, which is the similarities or interactions between Salvia and Iboga.
I did ~2.6g TA, and I think it was too much for me. I was fine, but it definitely took a toll on my body and there were some intensely scary parts.
You don't really control the trip. You don't want to try to steer away from negative feelings. Iboga is there to address them. It's like a complete overview of your soul. You can't hide.
This is my first trip on it: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/578463-(IBOGA)-moderate-experience-It-s-a-long-one
And this is a good forum to join before you do it. www.eboka.info
Also, you need a sitter. No excuses.
