Just got back from a 3 (really 2)-day trip, had a great time as always. Started modestly in Vista (Privilege) on Tuesday night, a trance night with pretty fine music but not many people, a jumping Wednesday night at DC10 (Circo Loco) - never been before and thought it was a great venue, although apparently it's a lot more corporate now than it used to be. Then finally Cream on Thursday, which was a massive night in every respect. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but for me it's as good as it gets.
Met some lovely people. Worth remembering that without that there's no point doing it. The crowd in DC10 and Amnesia were mostly top quality, and I had the pleasure of hanging out with one of the posters from this board, and his mate (won't say who just in case he's cautious, but it's not an issue for me), who were great guys. I needed to get away from the grind of daily life for a few days and largely thanks to them I was able to. Feeling predictably low now but what goes up must come down. Wondering if this was maybe my last time. I've asked myself this before of course and so far the answer has always been "no", but for everyone it has to end at some point and I want to avoid it getting old, or the magic fading. Have the option to return for a few days in September and won't make any snap decisions while I'm at a low ebb, but.. we'll see.
