Hey everybody, I posted in the social forum I am expecting a baby :)

There is an event that me, my hubby, our bf and another girl will be attending. I will be the only one not rolling. Also this will be my first time not rolling while my husband and our bf are.

I am certain the roll will start out at the event but end at our friends or our place. I plan to be a great listener, give massages, do tricks, be the dj for what they want to hear, get them cold waters , make love to my husband ...

I wish I was better with the sticks..I would do that too LOL and they wont be hungry so I will be skipping fruits and candy LOL

I have some questions:

One: Have any Bluelighters been the only one not rolling with a group and what were your experiences like ?

Two: Is there anything missing off my list that they would enjoy?

I will appreciate the feedback. My husband and our bf have been my rolling mentors for the last 2 years and I really want to give back to them after all they have given to me :)

I think that if you do all the things you said you will do, rolling or not you will still have a great time. I get a lot of joy out of seeing my friends roll, especially if it is their first time, even if I am not because I can see that magic in their eyes that I know have felt so many times and had so many great memories from.

Put together a great playlist for afterwards and like you said, massages, listen, waters, etc... and just enjoy yourself at the event, I'm assuming it is a musical event of some type, if so, and you are fan of the music, you do not need to be rolling to appreciate it, the vibes that events of this nature give off (granted some can also have some nasty vibes at sometimes due to stupidity on the part of the attendees) is enough to make the whole experience very enjoyable.
 
I saw Infected Mushroom with several friends 5 weeks ago and they were all rolling but I saved my magic for the recent massive in SoCal. I can tell you that it is SO incredibly fun to watch and hang out. It's not awkward at all and pretty much anything you do for them they will love and appreciate. I roll maybe once every 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer but I rave all the time and I seriously have just as much fun giving light shows as I do when I'm the one rolling!

I give glove and orbit shows, keep a handkerchief with vick's vaporub rubbed into it and tied around my plush backpack so my friends can come up and sniff it, and I keep a vick's inhaler in my pocket and offer it to them every 45-90 minutes (just not too often!) I also keep a pack of gum on me in case they get chewy, and the girls love the light up pacifiers I bring along. If you can get those cool finger tip vibrating things or any sort of vibrating massager at home, they will love that too! But I think the thing that my friends appreciated the most while rolling was when I'd go fill up a water bottle for them so they wouldn't have to quit whatever they were doing. I had a friend who did that for me at a show and I couldn't stop thanking her!
 
I've been the only non-roller at a party before. It definitely wasn't a bad experience. I had a lot of fun giving my buddies light shows (which was extra fun because when they were peaking, it was interesting to see how little I had to do to totally amaze them).

Sounds like you're all set, though. Massages, lights, viks, and have fun. I'm sure their positive energy will put you in a good mood as well.
 
First of all, congratulations! Second, like everyone's already said, the "contact high" of being around people who are rolling is almost as good as the real thing. :D There's nothing quite like bringing someone's experience to a new height, and the thanks they shower on you doesn't hurt either. ;) Who knows, it might be a good time to get into something new (e.g. glove lightshows, poi) that you can practice on your new adoring fans, heh.
 
thats cool and all but shit if u r expecting a baby u dnt have any business at a rave type event just for your saftey and the babies, i know someone has to DD but i wouldnt put my family at risk. what if someone dancing by u slams into yer stomach dancing in a crowded area, what if a fight breaks out, i wouldnt risk it... but shit at home thats another story..
 
Congratulations on the baby! You sound like an awesome girl, why can't we all be so lucky? Its always a good idea to have a sober person when rolling with a group and I have taken my turn before. It really sucks to have someone playing DJ when they are too high and it takes them 30 minutes to line up some music then They play one song and do it again. Or they get stuck on repeat. You have rolled before so you know what your friends want. Don't be afraid to throw the sticks either. You guys have fun and Congrats!
 
This is a rolling "reunion" type event at a local club here in my area this weekend. I have been to this club rolling twice before and the edm is always great as are the people and the staff so I feel very safe :)

i've been the only one not rolling before and found it fun. as others said you'll get a contact high to some extent and it's nice to be around lots of happy people. as an added bonus you'll remember all that funny rolling quotes that are usually forgotten :)
 
Congratulations on the pregnancy :) - Being around messy people when your sober can be great fun - your almost in charge of their feelings and you know that you can make the experience so good for them. Seriously anything that you do for them will be so greatly appreciated and even the simple fact your going sober will be a buzz for them. Take chewing gum, sweets and stuff like that and if your planning on going back to your house to chill then hire/buy a strobe or buy a cheap bubble machine (keep it secret though) so when everyone is sitting around you can surprise them. Buy some sparklers that you can give everyone and watch them turn into 6 year olds when they light them up :)

One of my good friends has a box of clothes that after you have been clubbing and go back to his house you can get changed into a clean tshirt / joggers / big woolly socks etc so your not sitting around is sweaty clothes.

You guys are going to have so much fun! Good call on the bubble machine Bearlove! I went to Spencer's one day and for a couple hundred bucks picked up a strobe, lightshow, fog machine and some miscellaneous toys and it was well worth it but didn't think of a bubble machine. I set everything up on a surge protector so all I had to do was hit a switch and had instant eyecandy!
 
^Its amazing when everyone is sitting around fucked and you just flip a switch and the entire room changes. Blacklights, strobes, bubbles, smoke etc yeah it may cost a few bucks but its nothing compared to the look on your friends faces when they all just melt into your carpet :D.
 
I got sooooo much stuff and it was less than $250 and with everyone together chipping in for stuff it was a minor expence and we had everything we needed plus the electo-environment! Bubble machine will coming before the next time. Might even set the fog machine in low and put it behind the bubble machine so you have fog filled bubbles

That sounds fucking badass <3 The number of times I haven't been rolling and my friends have is limited. Very limited. I actually had to sit here for several minutes -- at first I wasn't sure that had ever happened 8( Usually it's me talking to people on the computer. Either way, I get caught up in their high. It's a lot of fun entertaining rolling kids because they're so easily amused. I've had several raves I've gone to sober (most raves, I don't like raves on mdma) and I'll meet all kinds of people that are rolling. It's really hard to go wrong, just be there for them and entertain them -- it's nice to have a sober driver as well. I always thought the city lights going by on MDxx was hellah cool.
