stop smoking. if you can't hone in something like that when you have 'serious life goals' you are probably lying to yourself about your priorities. why is weed hindering you and why do you like it?

(mmm deja vu!)

It has taken its toll on me as i see that I am not caring about things that I normally would care about such as girls,

i am becoming much more unsocial ecspecially at social gatherings i pretty much keep to myself as opposed to being very out-going and gettin that tail,

my future, an average life is becoming more and more acceptable to me, and just a general lack of caring for things that i used to put a lot of work into.

I also find myself not caring about relationships with people that matter the most, i.e., friends, family, etc.

There are your reasons right there.

This might be a situation where you might have to quit or not quit. A couple times a week might be enough to throw you back into that lifestyle that you abhor so much.

It depends on the person, I smoked only a couple times last semester and each time, I let myself fuck up my schoolwork.

True.

Being sedentary will make you miss pot. Throw yourself into a hobby that you enjoy so much, you can lose track of time doing it (not masturbation).

It's funny that some thingsthat some people can do stoned, I can't bring myself to do it at all. For example exercising, doing homework, or even learning a new piece of music. I can only watch TV, play video games, or cook.

Know what your goals are...and understand that it requires discipline.

so true. i love weed and smoke it everyday. but i work a job on roofs all day and completely forget about weed, and the time goes by very very fast for 9hr shifts

usually when im high though i can do anything

It's totally possible to taper yourself down - but it does take a lot of will power. First you just have to limit yourself to one session per day, at night time. This way you'll get all your other shit done first.

Then, once you're solidly on a once-daily routine, start packing smaller and smaller bowls - just a little bit less every day. This is actually probably harder than limiting yourself to only one smoke a day, because once you're high it's a lot easier to just say "ah fuck it" and pack some more. I just make sure to put my weed away and put it in an inconvenient place so getting up to pack more will be a pain in the ass. Plus, I try to think, "well, am I pretty high right now?" and I always am... so there's really no need to smoke more weed. Over time you'll notice weed hitting you a little harder and eventually you'll get down to one or two hits a day - pretty fucking reasonable if you only do it a couple hours before bed.

Another good trick I've picked up, which may help you, is to always leave a little bit left in the bowl - that way you smoke less and the next day you've already got a little bit packed already, which in turn means you put less fresh weed in. It's a win/win!

I've found through my numerous quittings that it's actually much easier for me to drop weed cold turkey than to taper off my usage gradually. Only the first few days are somewhat uncomfortable but still totally manageable if you keep yourself busy. The gradual quitting sort of led to a "just one more bowl" mentality for me that was hard to work through.

Then again that's just me. I wish OP the best of luck.

Hy there, I have an advice.. I smoked much more than just once a day. My morning coffe accompanied with a nice joint, and same happened at 10 o`clock teatime, after lunch, afternoon tea, and after dinner there were 4-5 cigs blown up,and then coma-like sleep. Morning just did not started for me, if there were no weed. It has been built into my life very deeply, and I just could not go on cold turkey, and I hate to smoke cigarettes,... I have a friend working with natural medicine, and teas, and sound therapy, all that stuff.. And he told me I should switch weed to dried lavender, rolling it with tobacco as I did with weed. And what a wonder, it worked for me so much. All my life has been changed. And I LOVE weed too, but since then I am afraid to touch it, because I think I would fall back into the stonedworld. My joints cutted back to 1 or 2 daily, allways with lavender ( I got used to its taste very quickly, altough first time I was thinking I could not stand it..) and now I smoke some cigarettes too, if I having no chance to roll my lavender joint.. This change had an amazing IMPROVEMENT in my life, and I tought it worth to share it.
