Great story ... many people don't come out of such things alive; those who do often aren't left with the enlightended, sober, eagle-eye perspective you managed to reflect.
All too often we rush head-long into self-destruction, caught up in our addiction, oblivious of the wrath we inflict on others in our own mindless state of chemical dependency.
Time and $$ don't grow on trees, but there's always some in the future .. Life, however, is a singular entity; forget this once and in an instant, game over, man.
Unfortunately once the ball is rolling on a serious habit, despair replaces reason, and these words and lessons often ring hollow .. but in sharing, though you'll never know it, you could have renewed a life somewhere
