I used to take 400mg of tramadol all the time, but, odds of having a seizure?

Here or there.
I haven't taken tramadol in a long time, an d when I started to take it, I started at 350mg taken at once. I used to take it actually quite a lot but then stopped for about four months. I'm about to take 400mg but now I'm just freaking out about seizures. Am I prone to a seizure?

My dad has had 7 seizures in his lifetime and it makes me wonder if I'm also prone to having them. I'd like to believe I'm not as I've taken tramadol so many times and I've been fine. But now I'm just buggin out over the possibility to having a seizure while on trams. Anyone know the odds or how likely it would be?

I should be fine right, considering how I've always took a moderately high dose and been fine...

I've taken several multiples of the maximum tramadol dose without problems. But I really wouldn't want to assess your seizure risk without examining you first. Going to medical school might be helpful, also.

I use to take about 20 tramadol a day about 800-900 mg per day and within 24 hours of dosages too, I use to worry about having a seizure pretty bad, but I never did luckily, also that shit is hard to get off I had to use kratom cause the WD suck ace

be careful and take valium with it if you can

Pace!

I would err on the side of safety and take a lower dose, then build it up. I have a dose requirement of 600 to 700 mg's at a time, but I have been taking tram for 10 years.

The seizure risk is blown out of proportion here and when they do occur it's almost always above 400mg. You still need to be careful, though.

Even when prescribed for pain, the British Journal of Medicine (and rxlist, etc) recommend starting at 25mg and slowly raising the dose until you reach satisfaction.

I've been using tramadol for 7 years and find I only need about 200mg everyday. Tolerance doesn't seem to be a big issue with tramadol for me. Others agree with me, others say tolerance develops rapidly, even within days, but that's just not true for most of us.

okay, not to hi-jack this thread, but I usually take 5 10mg Oxymorphone per day ( 1 every 4-6 hours) but I'm on vacation and decided to spontaneously extend it, so I have run out of my script and am in a different state with little chance of getting ANYONE to prescribe me the OPANA. So I'm using a spare refill I had of Tramadol as a stop-gap medication to dull the withdrawal, and I do like to get a little persnookered sometimes.
Anyways, I have been taking over the 400mg recommended limit, and slowly inching up. Tonight is the worst as I have taken probably 900mg in less than 8 hours. At the same time, I have taken like 600mg of Pregabalin (lyrica) which is an anti-siezure med among other things, as well as 50-60 mg of Valium. Both of the latter are anti-siezure meds so I'm feeling pretty safe, but what do ya'll think?

I know I just need to find a doc who will refill my Opana til I can get home and see my PM doctor, but that is tough here, especially because Washington state has unusually harsh controls on Opiate medications.

what to do?

Many different environmental and biological factors can influence your seizure threshold, it is not necessarily the same from day to day.

This makes it a bit dangerous because one day, a dose might have been fine but the next day it might cause a seizure.

The best advice is to not exceed 400mg (and honestly don't even take 400mg at once as seizures have occurred at this level as well.)
