I took Xanax and have not eaten is this safe?

you'd probably be fine, but i would suggest taking less if you've never taken xanax or other benzos before. maybe start with .25 mgs or even less. you never know how something is going to affect you. some people love it, others don't. i'm not a big fan--just makes me tired and sluggish, no euphoria. i would suggest you stay away from alcohol and other depressants as well. even relatively low doses of benzos and alcohol combined, for me, would leave large blank spaces in my memory, which is scary and dangerous. xanax will also greatly increase the risk of overdose when combined with other drugs that depress the central nervous system. having an empty stomach is okay; it just means the drug will be absorbed faster so you will feel the effects more quickly, and it will probably feel like a stronger dose than if you had taken it on a full stomach.

so i would say the empty stomach is fine, probably preferable, but you should take a much smaller dose for your first time. just my two cents! it's always best to be cautious if you've never taken something. if you like the way a little bit makes you feel, you can always increase the dose from there. be safe.

2mg of alprazolam is kind of a high dose to take at once for most non tolerant people.

You'll be fine though, it's very hard to OD on benzos alone. The only (possible) danger at that dose is a blackout but its unlikely. Just eat something if you're hungry and don't drink alcohol
