I think my housemate is a chronic masturbator...

Ok I just double checked it and I would wager my life that those sounds are coming from his nose. It's definitely loud and forceful, but like I said, it sounds like he has some bad allergies going on. Plus I don't hear anyone saying 'ohhh'. I hear a nostril being cleared, then he sort of coughs and clears his throat, and then he clears the other nostril. Someone back me up here, this is insanely obvious. All in all I'd say it's a pretty ironic fail for the OP, being that he was painting his roommate off as a pervert...

Seriously did you listen to some other recording? Because to me he is clearly having an orgasm.

Plus even if he is just "clearing his nose". The guy is leaving sperm all over their shared shower. That is grounds enough to kick someone out IMO.

You listened to some other recording, or you need to have your hearing checked. I've never heard a nose produce such phonemes before. If that's really his nose making that sound, well, then I believe that Celine Dion's nose must have sung "My Heart Will Go On..."

I can see how the pitch is kind of vaguely similar to the sound of someone having a good old nostril toot into a hanky or whatever, but this is different. It's a very distinct vocal 'pleasure moan'. Perhaps my crappy phone recording doesn't do it justice, or you need better speakers or something.

I really did assume the best at first. My initial thought when I heard it the first time was that he burned himself on the hot water or something... then it started happening daily, then multiple times a day, then very often during weird times of the night... increasing in frequency during times of stress... synchronising with withdrawn behaviour, etc... My girlfriend, other housemate, housemates girlfriend plus one other friend that's heard him and know him are in consensus about this.

not to say he's a pervert... jerking off in the shower is very low on the perversion scale as far as I'm concerned, noises/hygiene aside... it's really more about lack of respect for other people sharing his space.
 
I'm kind of on the fence on whether or not it's moaning or nose-blowing. It does resemble that honking sound when someone is stuffed up and blowing their nose (not to mention you can hear the dude hawking up mucus as well). But it could pass as moaning, too.

I was just wondering why you say this. I've read a lot about Taoism and follow some of the tenets... I am just skeptical about this aspect of it. IME it seems that a prolonged lack of orgasms leadd to less sex drive and less masculane vitality, not more. Maybe we just have different definitions of male vitality, though...
