I'm not a heavy smoker.
Smokes 1-2 times per month.
On Monday I had half a small joint (not that strong).
This morning (Thursday), I've got to undergo a pre-employment medical.
I'm frightened about this.
However, I've managed to move it to Tuesday (8 days after I smoked a bit of that joint).
I purchased a home test kit earlier today and the test was negative.
I don't understand this. Isn't it supposed to stay in the system for longer?
I know I don't smoke often, but apart from Monday, I smoked the weekend before and also the weekend before that weekend.
And generally it's 1-2 times per month, as mentioned earlier.
Now that the test says that it's negative, can I relax?

What kind of test did you use? Do you know what kind of test your workplace will use?

I tried a whole bunch of self tests just for the fun of it (and to see what they'd pick up) and found that saliva tests didn't show weed after 30ish hours, piss tests can show weed use from up to a week prior (correct me if I'm wrong), blood and hair tests can obviously show much longer histories but I doubt any workplace would use these.

You aren't a regular smoker and should not have built up delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in your system. I think that you will be fine to pass both a piss and saliva test after 8 days.

I used one of these: SNIP
Not sure what kind of test they'll use, but I assume it's going to urine.
They're going to test me for drugs and alcohol.

The home test states that it's 99% accurate.
I've got another 4 tests in the package that I bought, which I'll obviously try over the next few days.

OK, not sure how much it takes to be a regular smoker, but your post makes me relax a little bit.
I hope you're right :-)
I really want this job.

It may be 99% accurate, but it all comes down to how long it takes your body to flush the chemicals out of your body. I'd consider 2-3 times a week regular use which can build up over time.

You should be perfectly fine. Good luck.

I think the previous two comments are more realistic, unfortunately. but its all relative dude. for example someone who has a low BMI (i.e. the 95 pound weakling) will test negative well before an old fat lady would. off the exact same amount. it comes down to metabolism..

What defines 'single use'. Someone who smokes 1-2 times per month?
Just did another test. Negative too.
