I smoke medical marijuana and get bad anxiety now.

Everytime he smokes now he gets really bad anxiety. Starts shaking and feels a really bad gut feeling. I dont know if its because he stopped and then started smoking again and something threw off the chemistry causing the brain not to agree with it anymore, but it really worries me because swim really wants to beable to smoke it again for all the benefits it has for him. please help
 
A lot of people suffer anxiety after they quit smoking & then return to it. The anxiety you are getting while smoking may be with you forever every time you smoke.

Maybe this is a good time to stop smoking. Also, don't use swim on this site, no need to, we know its you.
 
Smoke less at a time. Even if it's one little hit for the session for you to be able to be in control of your self. Gradually smoke more each day or even slower. Goal is too raise.your tolerance while still having an enjoyable high.

or you can get high and snap out of the anxiety. It takes practice and strong mental power but it can be done. It just takes a different way of thinking. Really relax your self, breathe deep and slow, everything is ok, think happy thoughts.

I too suffer from anxiety on and off weed. But I enjoy weed too much to stop use of it. When people tend to get anxious and in a panic like state after smoking it tends to be because they constantly think about it and we all know pot can make you think deep. Magnifying the thoughts greatly. Well SNAP out of it!
 
You have to know when to smoke and when not to. I went through some hard stuff in my family recently and it was all I could think about 24/7. I wanted to smoke so bad to try and relieve some pain but it just amplified my thoughts and made me more jittery. So I decided to lay off it for that month, which helped. 98% of the time I'm not THAT depressed and can benefit greatly from weed. For those times when you're messed up mentally, some benzo would more appropriately help that problem. If you aren't mentally stable, try taking just a hit or two of weed without over-indulging.
 
Yes marijuana is notorious for causing anxiety. You may also wish to evaluate what kind of marijuana you last smoked that made you feel this way. Sativa dominant strains tend to give more of a head high, more energy and more anxiety. Indica dominant strains tend to be more of a body high, and make you very sleepy. IMO indica is much better if you suffer from anxiety.
 
Well maybe you will be able to or not......In my case I can't smoke weed anymore and i even smoked medical and yes I had lesser anxiety but it still didn't agree with me.....Your pot smoking days may be up. I know some people tho who have pushed thru the anxiety and continue to smoke.
 
Pot used to cause me anxiety as well. The nasty cheap shit we used to get here.

Now I'm a lightweight and a single hit of medical(perhaps two or three) will sort me for quite a while, shit is so strong.

You could look into other forms of ingesting it. I understand you still get the therapeutic benefits without so much change in headspace.
 
I get anxiety from marijuana use as well.

With the break from smoking your tolerance likely dropped and you are smoking to much.
medical cannabis is extremely potent, a little goes a long way.

Whoever it was that said the breathing thing great advice.
controlling ylur breathinf by taking slow deep breathes in ylur nose and out your mouth can really calm you down.

Since you said you really want to be able to smoke youll just have to adjust your body to the thc again.
 
Try making a light dosed edible. Or firecracker.

Bake like .5 of ground up weed and put it on a small oben proof dish. Cover it up well with foil.
put it in an oven at 250degrees for 20-30 min.

take it out. Mix ground up weed with like 2-3 generous sized table spoon of nutella or peanut butter.
Drop like half a teaspoon of vegetable oil or even coconut oil. Mix it up real well and cover with foil again.

Leave it in the oven at 250degrees for 20-25 min.

take it out and let it cool.

divide it in to two cracker sandwiches either using ritz or graham crackers. You can even put it on bread.

eat one dose, save other dose for later to see how you react to edibles.
 
Smoking Marijuana, pot, weed, dope etc... can really cause different types of anxiety and panic attacks like, Increased heart rate, Poor coordination, Trouble breathing, Lightheadedness and Depersonalization. So better control, lessen or try not to smoke again.
 
Yeah. I used to love weed when I was a kid many years ago. I took a long long break from it, never really used it at all after I became addicted to heroin. Now every time I do it, I get really uncomfortable and anxious. Just wanna crawl out of my skin.
 
Same. I have panic attacks from it. I used to love it...then one time I got paranoid and had a really bad panic attack...I stopped.

I've tried to smoke again a few times, and the same thing happens. Panic attack.

Yeah. If I do like... a tiny tiny bit. I'm okay and it can actually be kinda relaxing. But, as soon as I take that one extra hit.. ugh. I hate it.

Even when I'm not super uncomfortable on it, It's still just not that pleasant for me. I just don't like the way weed makes me feel.
 
Let the weed get bone dry first then smoke it. It will be a burnout high. Smoke a fuckload and sleep. After you have done this a few times you will have conquered the side effects. Also, try not to think about propaganda when you smoke, that causes anxiety most of the time and can get out of control.
 
I get insane amounts of anxiety when I smoke. However, it's been a long time. I had a big hiatus off smoking, and when I started again, I got nasty anxiety. Only time I do smoke, and enjoy it, is when I'm tripping absolute titties. I get NO negative side effects that way.
 
When I've gone on month long breaks and returned to smoking, there was anxiety, yes, but most of this was due to this feeling that, "What the fuck, I'm smoking pot again now, fuck this shit's illegal" and I'll constantly think that people in my neighborhood will know that I'm smoking weed and I'll even get paranoid about there being cops around...and yes, this is just regular medicinal grade weed I'm talking about doing this. Most of it I attribute to the propaganda on weed in this country - IT WORKS PEOPLE! Almost all of the anxiety I get when I come back to smoking is just because I've been brainwashed into thinking pot is evil because it is illegal...the anxiety goes away after about a week or two of smoking again...

Also, I used to have an amphetamine problem for a year and a half and I NEVER had anxiety from smoking weed before going through the amp addiction...so, at least in my case, I'd have to at least assume that that period in my life as far as drug use goes is a contributing factor to any anxiety I get from smoking weed after breaks now in some way.
 
Try smoking only half the dose you are having and then have the rest bit by bit with 15 minute intervals.

Like all drugs if you cut your dosage down it is a lot milder on the body and mind.

Edit- Almost forgot to mention, also take a small dose of betablockers like propronolol before you smoke, it will reduce anxiety related tachycardia
