I see you

I went in last week to have my eyes checked expecting that they would tell me I need reading glasses or something. I knew my vision was off but I was not ready for one of the strangest shocks I've had in a while.......
Anyway, I get my eyes checked and it turns out they're really really bad. I need to wear glasses all the time and my vision problem will not allow for contacts. I look ridiculous in glasses so I'm not looking forward to it......but what I am looking forwaard to is seeing things new.
I felt like I had been half blind (which I guess was the case) when I had the 'prescription' in front of me. I almost started crying- everything was vibrant and clear......it was really really shocking.
I'm nervous, dreading it, but excited for next week when I get to see everything with new eyes :)

Yeah, you'll look great in glasses. Just don't rush through choosing the right pair; they can change the visual shape of your whole face. If I were to get contacts or surgery now, I'd probably still get a pair of prescriptionless glasses because I'm so used to how I look with them.

I'm sure you'll still look good :D
There are a surprising number of great looking / attractive glasses out there! I'm sure you can find something :)
But that's exciting that you can see!! YAY!

I already chose them- They're just getting the lenses in now......
I chose a rectangular pair and a cat eye pair :)
I had the girl behind the counter help me b/c I wasn't so excited about the idea altogether :D

And yeah, a_c, I was basically PASSED through the eye test getting my drivers license a few years ago- I redid it like three times and the guys was like "Do you mean ___________?" haha
Then he told me to go get my eyes checked.
And I waited until now :\

Thnks for the encouragement guys. I will post pics so you can all laugh at me :)

Um.
I picked up one of my pair of glasses today.
I cried when I put them on. I was trying not to :D
I can see so clearly- Its like there is a fog over everything without them on.
I can't even explain how INSANELY different everything looks.
It's amazing.
I am seeing clearly for the first time in my entire life.

Being able to see properly is a beautiful thing, isn't it? My 'script isn't that strong, but the big thing is that I have horrible depth perception without my glasses. When I first got them, when I was something like 15. I looked down at my feet and the first thing I said (no joke): "holy shit! I'm tall!" I seriously had never seen how far my feet were from my face until then.

Oh, and... pics? ;)
