I Remember
Kindergarten
Then First Grade.
Abstract pictures
That I had made.
Carousels
At the county fair.
Cotton candy
Lingers in the air.
T-ball games
With fresh cut grass.
Playing first,
And batting last.
My first crush,
First kiss on the cheek.
The quarter I spent,
To buy her a ring.
Training wheels,
Learning to fall.
Getting up
And standing tall.
Car trips
Past fields of gold.
My dog Gizmo,
On my lap to hold.
Thunderstorms
And sunny days.
Morning dew
From foggy haze.
Summer nights
Red Autumn leaves
Pure Winter snow
Springtime green.
Weeping willows
That paint the lake
Her sad branches,
That gave me shade.
Nurturing parents
With love so strong,
A childhood terror
That did no wrong.
Childhood
So sweet, so pure
My old friends
And the way we were.

Brownie, like I said before bro, you never cease to amaze me!

I remember. All the things in my life that have brought me joy. But I think most of all I will always remember the phone conversations..that have showed me how to smile.

Thanks! You've made me think of all my good childhood memories...the simplest things were so damn inspiring to me as a child. Everything felt more real back then. Why must I be blind to the world's beauty just because I know more now? It's a shame it's not the other way around. Maybe I'll take my babies out to this field of sunflowers I found the other day. It was quite beautiful, and I'm sure it will be even more so to them. Thanks again.

A Challenge:
(1) Read The Above Poem - a poem that highlights the simple wonders that filled Brownie's childhood.
(2) Experience Brownie - the most loveable, loving, caring, thoughtful, generous, positive, honest, loyal, fair, reasonable, funny, enthusiastic, fun, HAPPY person many people will ever know.
Coincidence?
Some of us were lucky enough to have been blessed with a happy childhood.
Others were not so lucky . . . yet some of them did what it took, surrounded themselves with positive influences, and ended up living happy healthy adult lives.
But ALL OF US have the opportunity NOW, to be guided by the stories of the Brownies in our lives . . . we can try to impact the childhoods of the children we'll have . . . and fill the next generation with . . . MORE BROWNIES!

I love you, Bro.
