i remember the first time I knew that you were my friend. we were sitting in a police station on a friday after work and I was shaking and you were too. not because you felt you had to but because you felt what I was feeling. I remember that I respected you for that.
you have stood by me when no one else did even though you knew that I was wrong or maybe confused or maybe uninformed or maybe stubborn. but you stood there anyways because you are true. i remember I hoped that you knew I'd stand there for you too.
i have seen you in pain over love and wishing that i could say something or do something to make it stop. i offered my own expirience and through your tears you still smiled. I remember thinking you were stronger than i was.
i have watched you with my son countless times random weekends random places. you never let that smile off your face when you're with him. i'm proud to watch the two of you together because I know you're one of the greatest people in his life. I remember thinking that you have taught me how to be a better parents, yourself not yet having any children of your own.
