I QUIT SMOKING, are you quitting? how long for

I have smoked regularly for 13 years. If you count from the first one I had it is 15 years but I didn't buy my own or smoke more than once or twice a year until i was 16. I have quit for 9 months before and went back. I did it for my gril friend (now wife) and not because i wanted to so I guess I was bound to fail. I have currently been trying to quit for about 2 months...I can't seem to make it past the first craving before I am running to the gas station to get anther pack.

I am open to any suggestions

im not ready at this point in my life to quit, ive only been an actually "smoker" since christmas, before then i had ciggarettes here and there, but i started smoking more, when i cut down on drink, which i was doing every day,

i might switch to snus, then at least i know i don't have a huge risk of getting cancer, its the better of two evils

just give it up now before you are years in and wishing you could go back and kick your own ass for doing it in the first place.

but if I could stand to have chew in my mouth I would switch to it because my lungs have taken a beating.

I quit cigs about 2 months ago, after about 2-3 years of smoking and I have been coughing like a goddamn maniac and coughing up some disgusting shit. I still chew tobacco on occasion but damn it feels good to be rid of those goddamn things.

i have a can of chewing tobacco i bought a few weeks ago and have only used it once or twice, ill cut out tobacco once all the booze is gone,

I've been smoking for about 6 years and I've quit two times in the last year. I just started up again a few days ago. But I'm not worried because I have a few nicotine patches so once this pack runs out I'll just quit again. :\

Working on quitting now. Last week I went four days without and then started again when I was drinking. Not bad for a first attempt I suppose. Only had half a cig today, and am going to give it another go tomorrow.

I don't smoke too much, started as a social smoker, but trying to quit. Nicotine gum helps a lot. Only on a few cigs a day now. Used to be a big Snus user tho (swedish snuff, oral tobacco) and I think that give me a bigger nicotine addiction than the cigs!

I haven't smoked a cigarette since New Year's eve. Before that, I would only smoke when I hanged out with certain people. I just don't smoke at all anymore, and it is good for me. I also don't waste as much money. Cannabis FTW.

Im quittin for at least the next 5-6 mos til I pop this baby out! hopefully i will be able to stick to it and not smoke afterwards but i know for sure its at LEAST til i aint pregnant no more. I cut from smokin almost a pack a day of newports to 3 a day and for the past few days I been at 2 or 2 n a half cigs a day, so im taperin down to none to give the baby the healthiest posible head start. :) it aint so hard to do when you got the motivation of a baby to protect. Its easier cuz you just want to quit out of love and it give you the discipline to do it.

I quit five weeks ago, been smoking for 10+ years sometimes I REALLY want one other times I don't. I think everyone just needs proper motovation. GOod luck.

I hope you have better luck than I have. I have tried every method and product except for the new chemicals and I refuse to try them. I quit for about six months at one point and one day my wife at the time brought me home a carton of cigarettes and told me I was a lot nicer when I smoked. I think that was her way of saying "just smoke these and die!" I really hope it works out for you.
