A fallen human, my species' scar
I can never become what I once was
To hell with that!
Only by being what
I was never meant to see can
I do what was never
Meant to be stopped
When the bandages are unwrapped
And the armor comes off, who am I, really?
What I see in the mirror, or what reflects
Upon other people? A mystery, to be sure.
I was never the same as me,
Can't always be your me.
And I can't always be my you. Maybe, through
Being what I hadn't been
Can I see who I truly am.
Most likely, I'll never be
The one I am until I clearly
Become what I'm not.
When I fail to see myself
In the window, that is when
I will know who I am.
I can never become what I once was
To hell with that!
Only by being what
I was never meant to see can
I do what was never
Meant to be stopped
When the bandages are unwrapped
And the armor comes off, who am I, really?
