So my cat is going to pain management Tuesday and he needs some advice on getting on medicine that helps him the most which is oxycodone. His primary care doctor has prescribed him percocet 7.5mg after his surgery, 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours after his surgery and eventually moved down to Lortab 5mg about 1 year after surgery. My cat hasn't been on pain medication in over a year but he works a very difficult industrial job and he has steel pins and plates in his leg and a severe almost 70 degree bend in his leg to where the leg looks noticeably bent in. My cat has found sources to aquire the medicine he needs but if his appointment fails to give him the medication he needs he will suffer greatly at work and has kittens he takes care of and depends on the income of his job to support his kittens is why he has decided to go into a clinic because it's cheaper and will do more than just provide medication to improve his quality of life and life at work so he needs advice on what to say or do to make the doctor understand his injury. My cats current tolerance is 15-30mg per day at work only as when my cat gets home he can relax and not depend on medication as he is not overly active at home like he is at work. Please and thank you for any and all

Also should I post the name of said clinic or keep it anonymous? I have the link to the website if nessacary.

Also his doctor has stated he needs imaging records and a list of pharmaceutical medication that he is on how does one go about acquiring this information?

Wow if my cat was getting that many percs she would probably die cause she's so small.

No swim lol. I got a cat too though but I hope he's never in pain, it would be a bitch copping for 2 lol.

Just tell the truth to the dr. Everything u just said minus your self medicating. Make sure u will piss clean, u will be tested straight away!!! Explain how the pain affects your life and how you've missed a ton of work and you can't keep it up or your kitties will starve !! Get records from pharmacy and hospital or surgeon X-rays, MRI whatever's relavent. No need to post clinic, tmi. Oh and PISS CLEAN!!! I hope this helps brother ;)

Edit: I notice an awful lot of us here at blue light have kitties. Something about us users and cats, hmmm... Sry, just an observation...

It took me a bit of reading to realise you were talking about yourself when I clicked on the thread I thought you were actually medicating your pet cat with percs and thought to myself shit that cat is getting Better pain relief than I am haha. But yes no swim, cats or pet unicorns here at BL.

And we can't tell you what to say to get the doc to give you pills its totally up to the doctor and if he truly thinks you need to be dependent on opiates then he will give you them. If he thinks there are better alternatives to relive your pain besides getting you hooked on narcotics then he will probably want to explore those first. Just tell the truth as cliffy said don't lie or anything or he won't trust you but some docs are really scared to write any narcotic prescriptions to anybody due to the laws around them like my mom has lived In chronic pain for over a decade where she is so bad she can't hold down a job cause the pain is unbearable making her cry constantly so I had to take care of her since a kid leaving her with no quality of life. She only recently got on disability too but its not nearly enough to pay the rent even so I still support my mom even today and she is still in pain. I used to buy her pills on the streets and heroin for her pain cause her doctor refused to help her and told her she is Better off in pain than addicted to opiates. This is the case for many people in pain. Of course there are still "pill mills' around where doctors are so corrupt they will prescribe anything for the right price so it all depends what doctor you go to.

I live in TN so it's like the pill mill capital of the South, of course excluding FL lol but there extremely easy to find here and we have about 6 pain clinics in each small city here. I'm not really just going for mess I really do need these to work on but i have smoked herbs and took my meds, from everyone I ask all tests are UA and unmonitored.

Also would I just go to the hospital that treated Mt injury and ask the front desk for the relevant CAT scan and X rays?

Yeah I'm pretty sure u just go to like radiology or something. Just ask the front desk and they'll steer u in the right direction.
My dr sent all my stuff over for me so maybe yours can/will do the same for you.
Tenn. Being a state like u described may not work in your favor like your thinking. Like train said drs are terrified to write narcotic scripts nowadays and they will let u suffer like trains mom has had to. I suffered for years and years with no meds, well no meds that actually worked anyways. I had plenty of proof, was even on disability already and I couldn't get a narcotic script except for benzos from a shrink for mental conditions. It wasn't until I found a caring gp that all that changed. I'm still vastly under prescribed and haven't had a dosage increase in 5-6 yrs now so it's really really difficult. Getting the first script is the most difficult thing I've had to do. It seems like your gp doesn't want to write the script for u anymore so he's sending u to pm. It's far from a given that your gonna get good meds bro so don't get your hopes too far up. I really really hope they help u cause I know how it is man. It's just so fuckin difficult nowadays even when u have all the documentation in the world.

Damn man you've got the weed in ur system? Not good man. That first visit is where u definitly want to pee clean. I'd just be honest about the weed, it worked in my case but I'm 105lbs because I can't eat due to gastro problems and I've failed every nausea med so I got a pass when I went to pm a few yrs ago. Pm still wouldn't write a script until I pissed clean on follow up visit. Had to stop smoking and my weight plummeted down to 92lbs. They didn't care, had to stop smoking or no meds. That's why I went back to my gp instead of continuing with pm, much much too strict for me. I wish you all the best brother, just use common sense and you'll come out ok. To us the weed is trivial but not to them but I think being honest about why your using it might help. Good luck!!

Thanks for the help everyone and here most tests are unmonitored unless you go to one that does pill counts. Everyone here is prescribed roxicodone usually within 3-4 visits from what everyone tells me in fact most have to visit 10-50 pharmacies before you will find them in Stock and some illegitimate pharmacies charge as much as *snip* for 120 30s and *snip* for the same amount in 15s

That is absolute robbery!!!! I'm in mass. And 90 oxy15 ir is *snip* no price discussion, that's with no insurance. That should be illegal!! Unreal dude, 85 at cvs, Walgreens and rite aid is a few bucks more and they're making a profit off that so wtf!!! That means they're making 10-15x their money down there cause I'm sure the pills cost the same thing for them. That's not right man...

Hand on the Bible true story he has told me and he's the owner of said pharmacy that "he don't take insurance on those because insurance doesn't pay what there worth" word for word

No wonder people sell the fucking things....have to to afford the script! Crikey.

Just tell him the truth, some of those guys REALLY know when you're trying to manipulate them. LOL

But a lot of pharmacies won't fill for some doctors and he will fill any script you bring him. He takes cash and has seen the same people pay for others prescription with cash repeatedly and obviously doesn't care. I've heard he has recently gone up in price again but last month he was 6 each on 15 and 8 each for 30. Obviously this free ride will come to a end soon so that's another reason my cat is going lol get in while the getting is good

I got a business card for one here in town *snip - no price discussion* they don't take insurance either so most of those are better anyway so I'm glad I waited a little because that's a lot of money to spend for hopes and dreams.

This thread is full of various rule violations. Pricing discussion is prohibited, "my cat" and other SWIM-like things are prohibited and asking how to acquire drugs from a doctor is also against the rules. I'm going to close this thread. I encourage you to read the Bluelight User Agreement (BLUA) - a link to it is available in my signature.
