i need advice...

i was at a party on the 9th (last week) ,,, and i was dancin near the front with one of my friends,, i told her to watch my bag while i went to refill our water,,, but as i was coming out of the bathroom she was rushing towards the bathroom, someone stabbed her in the back with a needle. sum guy pricked her, walked in front of her, waved and smiled, and dissappeared into the crowd. we went to the paramedics and they said there was a 100% puncture site, but no fluid was coming out when thye squeezed it. they told her the best thing to do would be to go to her doctor the next day. thing is, she refuses to go. her mum dint kno she was goin to a party, her mum wasnt even home. she says if she doesnt want to go to her doctor, or even a walk in, in case they find sumthin and she'll be in so much shit. if they guy tried to inject sum drugs into her, she wouldnt have known cuz we, and all the ppl we had come iwth, were screwed up on all sorts of shit. so she said she dint notice any difference in her buzz,, but then again, her e was just peaking and shed never tried the kind she was on therefore was unaware wether the effects she was feeling were cuz of her e, or sumthin else. i cant MAKE her go to the doctors, but is there anything else i should do/tell her? im really scared for her.

If not, then by now she should have felt something if it was a drug.
I don't want to scare you or anything, but there is always the chance that some sicko might have got ahold of a virus.
I would definately go get checked out immediatly. It doesn't do any good to hide from your mother if you are dead. Shit, say it happened at the mall or something.
That is a major example of why I don't get *too* fucked up at a party where there are many people I don't know.

I had some friends from south africa. Where aids runs rampant. Where damn near everyone has got it. Anyway he says people will try mugging you with an aids tanted needle. OR some sick fucks will just walk around and prick people for fun.
Not to get you scared or anything but an aids test is something i would look into among other things.

Most of those prick someone with an AIDs infected needle stories are urban legends. I have yet to hear of a verified case in the US. SO don't flip out about it (besides even if it was infected I still believe it is far from certain you would get infected).
Moreover it is a rave. Which is really more likely some guy going around who just happened to pick you to infect with HIV (if he stuck everyone other ppl would have definatly noticed) or he is some dumb drug using fuck scaring you. Probably some H users who wanted to fuck with a little raver (isn't it funny how H users have this macho thing about using hard drugs/needles). Moreover, If he thought he was commiting murder rather than just fucking with you I doubt he would have walked in front and waved. Still you were pricked with an unknown needle a test wouldn't be a bad idea.
As far as drugs go if you haven't had any bad effects now you almost certainly arent going to. I mean what could it have been, coke, heroin, K? Hell e is worse (dose for dose) than these things. As she is still fine now drug wise she really should have nothing to worry about.

Never had someone prick me at a party but did have someone once put gum in my hair for no reason.
This is the type of dumb shit which kills the scene. Someone is a dick...someone else is on meth and a brawl ensues.
I wouldn't follow conspiracy kid's advice...if you say you got pricked at the local mall all the sudden everyone is freaked it gets on the news and the police are all over it. Moreover, going to a party your mother told you not to isn't such a big deal. As you don't seem to be too big on needles I doubt your mom is a junkie....she will probably be freaked out of her fucking mind and will just be worried about making sure your okay (start with mom I think there is something you should know about). At the very least if you are going to lie just say it happened at a differnt party and/or some more wholesome nightclub. Anything else will probably bring too much scrutiny down.
On the other hand pretty much the only thing you need to worry about is STDs. If the virus could be transmitted in a less close way than sex he could have just breathed it in your face or one of a million things. In other words the only motivation for using a needle if he means to infect ppl is to give them something like AIDs or Hepatitis C. There are plenty of free (or at least cheap) clinies that do these tests...this is what will happen if you go to your doctor or don't. Have her go in and explain what happened, they are confidential, they will test for anything she is at risk of. Of course it may be necessery to be retested in 6 months if everyone is still using the anti-body type tests.

If she goes to see a doc theres the whole "doc-patient-confidentiality-agreement" thang, so if nothing is wrong then her mum won't have to know she was even being tested.
If on the other hand the doc finds something seriously wrong then may I suggest that the fact "she wasn't s'posed to be at this party" is the least of her concerns.
Go to the Dr. just to be safe. Hope it all works out for her.

As far as I know, needles are not the most common thing at "parties". Perhaps some asshole just poked her with a safety pin. You never know.

Well, TO DATE there have been no resported incidents of people RANDOMLY ATTACKING people with AIDS filled syringes.. people have robbed stores using syringes full of blood (instead of a gun) and there was a case of a brother injecti8ng his 19 y/o sister with AIDS tainted blood after an arguement - but RANDOMLY it's only an urban myth that AIDS-sick people go around trying to infect the world (well, with syringes anyway) .. you can read the de-bunked stories about needles in movie-theater seats ("Welcome to the world of AIDS" letters attached), syringes in pay phone coind returns, etc.. all at http://www.snopes.com ..
So, there is a good chance this was all a fabrication done for attention - it makes no sense, if this happened to me fear of death and the desire to get what medical help I COULD GET would FAR OUTWEIGH the fear of my parents grounding me for going to a rave when I said I was sleeping at Suzzies house .. though time is just about out for treetments that can prevent various diseases ..
If it DID happen - chances of the rig being tainted with some diseased blood are probably slim, it might have been someones sick idea of a joke ..
Either way, you need to pressure her to go to a doctor, and if she has a boyfriend he has a RIGHT TO KNOW so he can decide if he wishes to continue having sex with her knowing he might be paying with his life..

i'm not sure where u live, but in canada they can't tell your folks ANYTHING that u don't want em to know. i admitted to my doc ALL the drugs i do and my folks just brought me in to have a weed talk. he told me that HE CANNOT TELL MY PARENTS ANYTHING without my consent.
just do it for your safety...

OK here's something similar (kind of, vaguely)
I was at a tool concert with some friends a while back & one of my friends comes back to us really shaken going "oh, FUCK you are not gonna beleive what happened".
So he was waiting in the coat check line when this girl in front of him screams "ahh someone just stabbed me with a needle", he imediatly thought 'oh shit' & he checked his pocket on his shirt, sure enough he had a fit in there. The girl saw him & freaked out, he was really upset & trying to apoligise & figure out what to do (he wasn't going to run away). He started feeling around his pockets & found a badge that had come undone, it was in the area where she had been stuck & was obviously more feesable, he ran away then, after telling her of course.
So whats the moral of the story? um I forgot, I remeberd it & how freaked out & relieved he was.
Tell your friend to get her ass to a doctor, that's just so stupid not to.
