I need a new hustle! Anyone got any ideas?

What's up everyone, most of my life I sold drugs but I can't deal with the paranoia as well as when I was younger. Now I'm on disability but I paint when it's in season, but now the winter is here that's not a steady option. I'm just wondering how my fellow druggies get their money? Maybe by seeing what u all are into will give me some ideas on what I can do... Thx everyone ;)
 
I'm a fisherman.

(Commercial fishing, to be clear...for some reason when I say I'm a fisherman, people get the idea that I'm sitting at the end of a pier with a reed pole or something. I'm into production...20,000+ lbs. of salmon in 24 hours is a good day for me.)

I know what u mean, when I tell people I'm a painter they think I've got an easel and I'm painting pictures like Picasso or something , lol!
Commercial fishing. You have to be a pretty big strong guy to do that I think, right? I went on a few deep sea fishing tours off the Massachusetts coast when I was younger and I couldn't even reel those big ass fish in, lol, really embarrassing looking back. All the guys on that worked on the boat were jacked, they looked like they were on roids or something bug doing that kinda work I'm sure it was natural. I'm a whopping 120lbs soaking wet thanks to my shot pancreas so I think the fish would probably take me out to sea as opposed to me reeling them onto the boat, lol, funny visual there!

Really good money in commercial fishing from what I've seen though, I wish I was a bit healthier cause that would be perfect for me. Out on the sea just me And thoughts, sounds awesome!
 
I weight about 140-145 pounds, on a 5'10 frame, so I'm not exactly huge either. Although when I'm working I usually gain about 20 pounds...the most I've ever weighed while fishing was around 175 pounds. Of muscle, my body doesn't really retain fat well, due to a high metabolism and health problems.

It kind of sucks to get really swoll and then just drop it all when you return to civilization, but that's the way it is lol. It's a good job, I'm proud of my participation in this industry. Very rich in history and tradition. My entire extended family are fishermen as well, going back many generations, that's how I got into the business.
 
Well geez ur not too big either so hmmm... Is that a "on the book" type job? Do they take taxes or give u a 1099 or anything like that?
 
My junkie hustle was pull up to a gas station with barely any gas and pretend you got your wallet stolen at a friends party and you're trying to get back home (make up a city that's about 10-20 miles from you) and ask for change or any spare dollars and be very nice you'll be surprised I've gotten many 20s$ I got a 50$ bill once from a rich 25 year old black rapper son lol. I used to hop gas stations doing that to keep up a speedball daily habit ... It's hard for me to look at myself again pan handling is so low :/ sometimes people would demand to fill the gas themselves and they would 80$ full tank! Lol
 
:\ FWIW...I've filled folks' gas tanks, bought food for them and their children but never gave money because of this ^^^I won't knowingly support a "habit" with my cash, but feel no regret for helping folks.

Just last year I stopped for a college age fellow freezing in the cold with a flat tire. I know it's foolish on my part, but I stopped and offered him my jack. I gave him my phone number to call me when he reached my exit. He DID. I met him at McD's to get my jack. His mom called me later that night and thanked me.

Yep...I'm told I'm a "sucker". I disagree. I'm not a hater, y'all and mean no offense.

Cliffy, it's still warm enough here to paint actually. It was on my "to-do" list this Fall, but I spent last half of October in hospital. :|
 
I live in Massachusetts, it's technically warm enough to paint but there's just no work this late in the year, I'm stuck til late march probably. I remember in pm thread that ur hubby was posting for u while u were in there, hope ur doing a little better at least. I know for us cpps it never gets really better, just tiny increments of feeling a bit better, minutes and hours of peace. The goddamn constipation is right back after the magnesium stuff so I'm stressed, back to 3 days with no bm :( next month I'm gonna try that mirilax stuff u told me about. Gonna need another bottle or 2 of that magnesium stuff to get me through til then. If it's not one thing it's another, I'm just so tired of it all, the never ending torment. I get my pain under control but I gotta pay with the constipation now. There's always a price to pay I guess :(
 
Hey Cliffy...I can SO feel ya on the constipation issues. That's why I was in the hospital (partial bowel blockage). Yet I was taking the Miralax in order to have movement every 3 to 4 days. Gross, but the Miralax was drawing enough water into the stool to flush past the blockage (huh?). CT scan showed by damn colon was filled with "stool" and bladder filled with infection. What I can't get these apathetic doctors to realize...THIS IS the beast of this disease. My guts distend with constipation, choking off my bladder, which cannot fully empty. I don't have access to doctors who give a shit (pun intended). They've put me on Linzess 290, which is too damn expensive AND is causing crippling upper belly/chest gas (not the fart kind, but ripping chest apart into shoulder blades.

I'm concerned that I may be having liver failure again (1994). Please God NO!!?!! I don't want to freak my husband, after the scare in October.

I truly hope you can get relief with the MC. The Miralax will take to long to start working, unless you've cleaned the pipes, so to speak. I understand the stress and we both know that stress is our gut's worst enemy. I'm exhausted from the one thing, then another...then my spawn of Satan mother!?!

Yea, MISS is a LONG way from MASS...Aw shucks. I think we could share some laughs. I like your spunk!

I've always dreamed of living up that way. I love the idea of living somewhere in New England...clam chowder and cable knit sweaters.

Yeah I know what u mean about the water rushing past the stool, this happened when I took the mc but it broke it up enough for a bm for me thankfully but then right back to square one.
Jesus you poor thing! I have other major gi issues as well so I know all too well how one problem creates another and another.
It sucks u don't have insurance that'll pay for the Linzess and the pain meds for u. Sometimes I thing it's better to be totally broke cause it's much easier to get help from the state. Make a little money and they hold it against u so that ur always working and still living hand to mouth.
I'll keep u in my thoughts and prayers Dixie! May the better days come for all us cpps sooner rather than later...

You are SPOT ON with the med costs. Yea, I've tried to get help from big pharma w/Linzess, but we don't meet their income "criteria". Yet, how the fuck can any human pay these prices for multiple meds just to GET UP out of bed? I'm not looking to get high, just UP.

Chronic pancreatitis, it's crazy. I drank hard for a couple of years and woke up one morning with it, lucky guy I am. I suffered through it without meds for years until I had enough and started telling doctors I wasn't fucking around. Had to be really assertive and bounce from er to er til finally I found a dr that took some pity on me.
Have u checked online for cupons for the Linzess? I knew someone else that paid cash for their scripts and they found some really good cupons, like 25% off, that's a good amount of money when ur paying 3-400 per mth.
Just an idea...
 
I know someone who goes to auctions/auction sites and buys things for really cheap, then flips whatever they bought for a higher price. Just a thought if you're not looking to find a side job.
