steezyasfuck's channel on youtube uploads a lot of beat tapes and lo-fi mixes if you're into that sort of thing. Like hiphop (not rap) mixes? Can't go wrong with Nujabes or DJ Okawari, etc.
I always found Lemon Jelly to be sublime music and indispensable for such occasions. They're more downtempo, triphop. Think elevator and mall music, just way better.
"Chillhop" or "chillstep" are also personal favorite genres/subgenres of music.
These suggestions are based on wanting to nod and I've thereby avoided anything particularly upbeat or lyrically complex.
Alice In Chains and any grunge is awesome to me. Grunge is my favorite genre but Black Sabbath and Radiohead are pretty good too. I'll check out the other suggestions as well. I like good beats, even some hip-hop beats like this one taken from James Brown's song King Heroin: https://youtu.be/BTnQ1QVDGGc
^I love J Dilla, nice chill beats. The 14-minute version of that heroin cut is one of my favorites. You can find lots of megamixes on Youtube that go on for hours.
I've been enjoying the DJ Screw mixes lately. At 100 minutes each there's enough to nod out to and then there's plenty others on Youtube
