can someone tell me what this is

Methyl-[1R-(exo,exo)]-3-(benzoyloxy)-8CmethylC8Cazabicyclo[3.2.1]-octaneC2Ccarboxylate

thanks in advance

cocaine analoge aint it?

Cocaine: [1R-(exo,exo)]-3-(Benzoyloxy)-8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester

I think it's cocaine. methyl-[rest of molecule]-carboxylate=[rest of molecule]-carboxylic acid methyl ester

A related question: Does the methyl ester in cocaine get hydrolyzed in the body? Or is it sterically impossible for the esterases to get at?

Any biochemists know the answer to this one?

It gets metabolized. Plasma esterases are one of the major metabolic routes for cocaine.

Yep it's cocaine, [1R-(exo,exo)]-3-hydroxy-8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane-2-carboxylate is ecognine, so the methyl 3-benzoyloxy ester has to be cocaine.

IUPAC names can be pretty daunting for polycyclic heterocycles. Have a look at the IUPAC name for something like morphine or LSD & you'll see why people prefer a more trivial name like methyl benzoylecognine for cocaine

lol

I idint think much of this thread till that guy said that shit, he prolly meant good, but he single handedly brought heat to the topic.

Its like your standing with your buddy next to a cop and your buddies got an ounce of blow in his pocket and you shout "DUDE PUT THAT IN YOUR SOCK BEFORE HE SEARCHES YOU". Idiocy.

It seems pretty obvious to me, the product is listed as such to deter LE, but is sold by some RC company under said name. Said individual wishes to protect this, but just makes it a known fact in his attempt. Stupidity strikes again.

lets hope this isnt the case, cause any RC company doing such will not be around much longer.

UTFSE, this question was asked. And it shouldn't be asked publicly, and you know why. Please close thread mods who also know why.

I'd love to know who you think you are. If this needs to be closed it will be closed.

Yep it's cocaine,

Tell a lie! It's actually a 'variation' on coke where the benzoyloxy group is in the beta config rather than the alpha found in natural cocaine. Not that it'll make any difference to LE - it's effectively an optical isomer of coke, so they'll still decend upon you from a great height

Natural cocaine does exist with both ring substituents 'exo'. I just read that a 3R substituent is generally the prerequisite for high activity in these compounds. I also think p-fluorophenyltropane is often stated as being more potent than it actually is. I think it's maybe 6x the potency of cocaine and not 60x stronger. Again, im not really an expert of cocaine. If I had a stash i'd probably just snort a few lines and leave it that.

Cocaine and phenyltropane have reversed stereochemistry wrt C2.

In cocaine both ring subsituents are SYN and EXO (Plati's BETA config).

Since the compound is 1R (referring to the carbon bridgehead), I suspect the compound must be the "cocaine isomer".

This is to the best of my knowledge, but feel free to correct me if wrong.
