Here or there.
I love it. I think I take a lot though; 350mgs everytime. I limit myself to taking them three times a week. Am I taking them too often? Or am I good? Oh, and doesn't 350mg put me at a high risk for seizures?

What I do is I chew 3 and then take 4 15 minutes later and it makes me feel extremely good. I've tried parachuting and I hate doing it. How do you take your pills?

I've taken many pills in my lifetime and oddly Tramadol is my favorite high. I just love the calmness, warmness and the general everything is perfect feeling. Whenever I tell a friend about Tramadol they call it terrible and nothing special. Does Tramadol affect people differently? Like, are there huge differences in how enjoyable the high is to different people?

I think I have Restless Leg Syndrome, should I ask my doctor about Tramadol?

I usually take Tramadol as early as I can, like 9am, and then enjoy it all day. But, every night I start to freak out and I don't know, I just don't feel right when I'm trying to sleep. I start to worry about having seizures and start to think one is coming on. But I have had panic attacks ever since I took Adderall for 5 months straight haha. Have you ever had a seizure while on Tramadol? Is it serious or something that you could brush off?

The only pill I've ever taken enough to really have withdrawal from is Adderall. I've never had withdrawal from Tramadol. How much/long would I have to do Tramadol for to experience withdrawal or even tolerance? I mean, Tramadol is always as good as it was the last time for me, which I think is odd as you'd think I would develop a tolerance to it. Really, the only time Tramadol isn't as good as it was last time is when I took it the day right after I've already taken it.

As lame as this may sound, I am in love with Tramadol. And yeah, I have done other pain pills before.

Tramadol shouldn't be used in doses over 400mg or even lower for some people, because of the seizure risk. You possibly could get it prescribed for RLS, but in my experience, it has only been prescribed to me and friends of mine strictly for pain issues. Not saying that you won't get your script though. Every doctor is different in their own philosophy and way of dealing with patients and treatment. To answer your other question, you would probably have to be doing Tramadol for at least 2 to 3 weeks daily for any noticable withdrawal symptoms, although it could be shorter. Personally, I find it very weak but a life saver when I'm experiencing withdrawal from stronger opiates. Everyone is different in their reaction to a drug, really. Just go with your gut. If you feel you are at a borderline dose for a potential seizure, than lower it before something negative could arrise. Lastly, no a seizure isn't something you can just brush off. It should require immediate medical attention (ER). Hope I helped you man, stay safe and wait for other answers on here that may be more beneficial and helpful to you.

Hey man,

You might not want to mention quantity and price in your post. Law enforcement can and does read Bluelight.

400 mg is known as the "maximum daily dose" per most doctors/texts. You can have a seizure at a lower dose than that; it all depends on your neurochemistry.

I take 50-100 mg daily off-label as an antidepressant. It works better than anything else for me. I am responsive to higher doses (as in I get way high) but have not gone above 250 in a day IIRC (for pain). I personally think it's a great drug. I get a nice little buzz off the dose I take for depression at times. It mostly depends on my mood day-by-day.

Touch wood, I have never had a seizure (from anything).

The person I live with, on the other hand, gets only SSRI-like side effects from it and thinks it totally sucks. Everyone is different. I've known people who were full-blown addicts. I have done a taper in the past, from 100 to 50 to 25 mg to nothing and been fine.

Since tramadol is 90% bioavailable orally, there's not much point in crushing it IMO, or any other route of administration. I've only swallowed whole pills.

If you think you might have panic disorder, you really need to watch your dose. At high doses, it increases my anxiety to unmanageable levels (I have panic disorder and GAD). You should mention your panic symptoms to your doctor. Do note that if you do not tell your doctor about the tram use and he/she prescribes an SSRI, that the two can NOT be taken together (serotonin syndrome). Also ask about cognitive-behavioral therapy, and if you trust yourself not to abuse benzodiazepines, those are an option too.

Tramadol definitely does affect everyone differently. IME people either love or hate the stuff. Please be safe; you might want to consider lowering your dose gradually to a less risky level.

Hope this helps - fire away if you have any more questions, and be careful.

I like Tramadol and take about 400-500 mg daily. I have never had a seizure, but watch out, withdrawal does occur with tramadol and can be worse than harder opiates because you withdraw from opiate and snri at the same time. It is no picnic, I get sick if I don't have it now. and it really SUCKS

I am currently no Tramadol 100mg for pain I am going through I take 2 4 times a day thing is they start making me feel dizzy and sick then that sort of gouching buz what I dont like but I need to take them cause of the pain I am going through.

not to the first poster I think that is a bit much to be taking especially chewing them

Out of everybody here, I strongly recommend having a long acting benzo handy.
These seizures tend to happen at random moments and I personally would not be caught dead without Klonopin if I was taking tramadol.

When I say random, I mean random.

Picture a normal day, and you have been taking tramadol since Ultram came out.
Your body has been handling it well. This morning you get high, ride it out, etc...
Near the end of the day, BAM!, you are flailing on the floor.

In no way does this happen to everybody though, But when it does it will be a big surprise.
Be careful my friend. And have a happy high, but everything can have a bad side.

Am I taking them too often? Or am I good? Oh, and doesn't 350mg put me at a high risk for seizures?

That's kind of often, you'd better not do it 2-3 days in a row.
350mg isn't very much, you should be safe. And since you've done it many times the risk lowers I think.

How do you take your pills?
I sometimes have Tramal Retard (extended release) and take them "normaly", that's all at once and without crushing.

Does Tramadol affect people differently? Like, are there huge differences in how enjoyable the high is to different people?
I've never done "real" opiates (only codeine, which doesn't get me high and loperamide ;) ) and Tramadol is also my favorite high. And I see (across this and other boards) that there are hug differences between how Tramadol affects people. Some get impulsive when on it, others feel nothing, some have moodswings, get nervous and so on.

I think I have Restless Leg Syndrome, should I ask my doctor about Tramadol?
I think so, maybe you'll get clonazepam or other benzo prescribed ;)

Have you ever had a seizure while on Tramadol? Is it serious or something that you could brush off?

I haven't had.

Thanks everybody for all the information. Seriously, It helped me better understand the drug I love so much. Also, I read up a little and 350mg is a high dose, and higher doses are more likely to cause seizures so no more 350mgs for me.

Jay, I know that was a stupid question, but my dad has seizures, and I've seen it quiet a few times, they're horrible, but after it's over and he rests in the hospital for a while, he seems to be fine. That's why I was under the assumption that they could be brushed off. When I say "Brushed off" I mean it more in a "Don't have to go to the hospital" way. He has his seizures for a reason other than epilepsy so I don't believe I'm prone to them or anything.

Anybody, what would you say the chances are that someone has a seizure from using Tramadol often? Like, not to high, high or very likely? I've downed more than 300 trams in my life time, so I've been high on it 40 or more times, and never had a seizure. Do you think taking Trams more than once in a row increases the chance of a seizure greatly? When I was in school I was taking them two to three times in a row sometimes.

Oh, and one more thing, I don't have any trams at the moment, but last time I did, when I went to bed, I would sleep for like 18 hours or more. Is that normal for trams or is that a sign of withdrawal?

Personally I feel as long as your are under 400mg you're find.

I don't know how the how you can chew them. Nasty. Although I did used to crush mine and put it into a glass of grapefruit juice (grapefruit juice can cause a stronger high) but then I started throwing up every time so I plug it now.

Yes, Tramadol is different for everyone. Some people don't have the enzymes to process it and don't get high and some people just don't like the mix stimulant/opiate high Tram has.

I usually brush the seizure thing off. I have never had a seizure in my life. I have taken 1g of Tramadol of 4 or 5 occasions and not had a seizure, thats not to say that someone else won't. But you WILL throw up. I also take another medication as a mood stabilizer but it is also used to treat seizures so it can be somewhat preventative.

I do notice that I will get a VERY high tolerance to Tramadol and not get high anymore sometimes. I've been taking it for 3 years now. I have never had any physical w/d from it. Although I will crave it if I don't have it.

I would think that redosing your Tram would elevate your seizure risk. However you can take a preventative measure by taking a benzo.

Taking 350mg tram with GF juice is just as dangerous as taking over 400mgs.

It's going to raise your blood serum levels and make it linger n your system longer, don't do it.

1. It's impossible to give exact odds or even an estimate. Tramadol has a known side effect of causing seizures. The risk goes up the higher the dose. Seizures are serious business. You really, really don't want one. Don't risk it, man.

2. I've never heard of excess sleep as a sign of w/d, but I am inexperienced with w/d due to the taper that I planned. It is possible that you are catching up on rest if tramadol has a stimulating effect on you.

I'd get away from addictive behavior with tramadol as soon as possible if I were you. Yeah, it's not as "hardcore" as other opioids but that to me just means it's underestimated.

Pillthrill - are you plugging it to avoid nausea or because you get more high? Tramadol is almost as bioavailable taken as a pill orally as it is any other way. It really is a waste of effort, IMO, to take it through other means... if you feel more high, it's likely placebo.

I throw up any time I try to eat it...
If my dose is too high I throw up regardless.
I guess I'm a lil sensitive.

Thanks everyone, again haha.

So, I just got 7 tramadol so I plan on taking that first thing in the morning haha, but, I'm only taking 6, instead of my usual 7, as stupid as this sounds, does taking 50mg less than I always do put me at a risk for a seizure? Pillthrill said that redoing my Tram doses may elevate my risk, but does the apply to a change as little as 50mg?

Oh, and Pillthrill, chewing trams at first was really gross, but I downed them. Now, chewing them isn't so bad cause I'm used to it and it's kind of a welcome taste haha. Have you tried to chew em quickly but effectively and right after drink something with a strong taste? That's what I did at first. It's not that terrible, at least for me it isn't. Also, I don't think I could ever plug pills, but, is the high the same or is it more intense?

Mariposa, I'll be fine, I think, but thanks for the warning haha. Also, yeah, seizures are serious business, I looked em up and I definitely will be worrying about it all day. But, tramadol just helps me get through the really gay days so well. Tomorrow, I'm going to the DMV for the first time, and it's going to be the best thing ever just like everything else is with trams haha.

Trams are pretty harmless

I have taken tramadol on and off for years, usually around 600-800mgs per day when I'm using it, although I'll use my Stadol NS for 7 days, then tramadol for 7, then Actiq (Fentanyl lollipops) for 7 days, then trams, etc. By rotating them out or just having a high tolerance, I have never had a seizure from them before and hopefully I never will!

My dad is a pharmacist and a chemist, and he says that seizures from tramadol are really rare, even when over-used. He also said that once you start having them, though, you need to get off of it because you will continue to be more susceptible to them in the future.

Good luck with whatever plan you decide on - and if the trams make you happy and you've never had any trouble, trust your own body and instincts and run with it :)

I abused tramadol for years in conjunction with other opioids, but sometimes tramadol was the only opioid, I went over 400mg just a few times in the recent past, but thanks god I'm rx'd an unholy ammount of clonazepam and pregabaline....I once had a seizure combining oxy tramadol and benzos, don't remember anything, was at a rock show woke up on the street outside the venue with my friends and random people trying to wake me up and then the ambulance came...I hit my head pretty hard but luckily my friends held me tight when I was having the seizure....otherwise I would have had a different ending.

And I've been on it for years and addiction happens....to the point I had my last dose today after a LONG taper and now I'm on bupe....yeah it was pretty pain free, but I tapered from 400mg a day to 150-200mg very slowly with loads of benzos, and now I'm on bupe because of many opioids, but mostly because of tramadol, will start taking naltrexone also as I was sick of being dependant on the pills to function.

Luckily buprenorphine antidepressive properties, the benzos, ganja and some coke and sex helped a lot and I'm pretty much pain and withdrawal free...but I'm on bupe because of tramadol, and I used to be a heavy daily H and OC user, but without the medicines to help me I'd never be able to quit tramadol on my own, always went back...Heroin I haven't done since 2006, so yeah tramadol seems harmless and a good anti-depressant, but being dependent on it sucks...lord bless buprenorphine

About a year ago my old roommate took Tramadol quite often.

He got prescribed it for back pain and took it nightly for 3 weeks. He stopped after that and did in fact suffer slight withdrawl symptoms. He couldn't sleep for 1-2 days and had some edgyness (that even a word? Hell, he was easily aggitated) that he didn't usually have.

are there huge differences in how enjoyable the high is to different people?[/B]

I'm sure there are, just like with any other drug. Reading over posts on BL and other areas of the internet, I can see that with Tramadol, this is most certainly true. I haven't taken Tramadol very often, or many opiates at all for that matter, but I seem to really like Tramadol. More than the other opiates I've tried, in fact. I like how it makes me feel productive, comfortable, euphoric and empathetic. If I smoke weed on top of it, it's almost as if I'm rolling. :]] Interesting!!
