Heroin I know about the pins and needles after IV'ing... but what if it's uncomfortable?

Topic title pretty much covers it. The past few times I've shot up, I get that slow rush that begins as I'm pretty much used to, but then all of a sudden it gets WAY too intense, like the usual feeling of pins and needles, but x100, almost like I'm burning, and it's actually kind of painful and not very pleasant. What is causing this? And is there any way to avoid it?

Histamine causes the itchiness and pins and needles I believe. It might help to take a benedryll.

I'm familiar with the standard histamine reaction, pins and needles and itchiness and the like, and I've taken plenty of benadryl in my time... but what's alarming to me is I've been IV'ing for about 6 months, and that pins and needles/itchy feeling has ALWAYS happened... only now it's suddenly PAINFUL. Which only happened within the past couple weeks.

Like, it's literally physically painful, it makes me cringe and rub myself all over hoping for it to go away.

And I've gotten several different batches throughout the past couple weeks, and they all do the same thing. So I'm assuming something weird is going on with me personally, in my body chemistry? Does anybody else have experience with this?

Have you taken the benadryl at the time of injection? Or well, i should say feeling the benedryl at the time of injection- if your symptoms improve, then it could just be you getting a slightly more severe histamine reaction.

Otherwise, my first thought is that since you are IVing which is literally the BEST WAY TO BYPASS ALL IMMUNE SYSTEM RESPONSES YOUR BODY MAY HAVE..... anything could happen, so weird sensations/experiences are really not at all outside the realm of imagination.

If the benedryl doesn't do anything, get a micron filter, and see if that helps- unfiltered substance being mainlined directly into your vascular system giving you unpleasant feelings is definitely not outside the realm of imagination.

If even that doesn't help, than it is also not outside the realm of imagination that you just happened to have developed a strange reaction to heroin.

A powerful drug taken by the most powerful route of administration producing powerful side effects?

NOT. OUTSIDE. THE....... Fill in the blank.

Hope all goes well, i bet people on BL will have had similar experiences and they'll get back to you on what they did to help solve the problem.

Good luck

...Heroin shouldn't be causing pins and needles. Must be a high morphine content.

Take 50mg of Benadryl 2 hours prior.(it takes that long to reach full effect). Try a smaller dose, injected VERY slowly. They're I'd always IM injection, if you're desperate.

Oh, and try to find some better dope. Pure diamorphine doesn't cause a histamine reaction(well, nothing like it's parent/metabolite, morphine.)

Unless you are, but, you said different batches, so I'm assuming H.

Yeah sounds like a histamine reaction. Some batches of heroin give more of that than others. If you know the dope you have gives that intense pins and needles reaction after IV'ing, take an antihistamine before shooting up and it will help big time.

Quit being a dick to everyone Scag! He didn't deserve that!

Oh wait...?

I agree with an earlier post where someone stated that heroin should not and usually doesn't EVER give a pins & needles effect. Morphine, however, does. That is the #1 reason I HATE morphine. But, if you are buying this so called heroin, and it has the brown/black look to it, smell it. Does it have a vinegar scent to it? Or does it smell like burnt cookies or molasses? I'm guessing regardless of the smell, you're injecting OPIUM, not heroin. Look it up on Wikipedia. It comes from the opium bulb and my little Asian friend brought some too me one day, his mother made it from scratch. Anyway, a friend assumed it would be just like heroin and boy did she get a surprise! She said it felt like she did 10 morphine 100's and it was so painful. I took a different approach. I used WAY less then she did, added a little bit more water, made it up and got a totally different result. Mine was that of my favorite drug, dilaudid. That's what it felt like for me. So try that. Use less, use more water, and you'll probably get that feeling one gets from hydromorphone.
Hope this helped.
