Ok well this post is mainly about phenibut and liver toxicity. I am also on 8mg bupe a day. So I discovered this Russian space bullshit about a month and a half ago and it looked like a miracle drug to me. Essentially it is if it wasn't for the worrying liver toxicity that goes with it. So I've been taking 2 grams in the morning and 2 grams at night with some days goin to 3 g. Ive been doin this for about a month give or take a few days. This past week I've been having symptoms of liver damage or stress that consists of: weird bulging tightness in my lower back, itchy skin when I get in the shower in the morning, dark urine, water retention, and the most worrying of them all is the very light brown very mushy stools which are a problem because me being on bupe makes me feel constipated as in my anus is tight so I cant crap the mush out cause of the constipated tight feeling. Its very worrying to me. I would just stop taking the phenibut but I have gone through benzo withdrawal before and had a seizure so I really just wanna make a taper plan and do it right so I can stop damaging my body with this whack ass bullshit. Im only taking drugs like this because Im also on state parole so of course nothing illegal. So my final questions are: do you think I am in danger of dying because of these symptoms? I know liver failure takes a long time to kill someone but I just wanna be sure because I will go to the hospital if I have to. If someone could suggest a good taper plan for the dose Im currently taking that would be good. And also any other suggestions I am open to. I just wanna stay on my sub now and not worry about dying....

I dont have alot of medical knowledge so I really cant comment on your symptoms, but Id see a doctor if they get any worse or even fail to start lessening once you start tapering. I would drop a quarter gram from each dose every 2 or 3 days. You could go slower than that though if you wanted. The closest ive come to phenibut withdrawal was after 3 straight days of use and the rebound anxiety was fairly bad. I'd imagine full blown w.d. has got to be up there with benzos and reports ive read seem to corroborate that. This stuff can be hard to not overdo when you don't have much else around. I took 4 grams this morning and 3 yesterday, my tub is almost gone, won't be ordering any more for awhile. I hope my kratom comes tomorrow. But anyway, yeah a nice slow taper should get you out without much w.d. but you'll still probably experience some. And I'd watch those symptoms closely, liver damage is nothing to just write off. Stay safe.

i would go to a doctor, explain the whole story, and get the doc to Rx the necessary tests (the hole shabam) go to the hostpital and get them done ASAP... in the meantime heres a BL thread on tapering phenibut http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/583072-Tapering-off-of-Phenibut
try not to worry about it, without taking necesary steps to treat the symptoms, youll just do yourself more damage by stressing "unnecessarily".

good luck

Yea Ibe begun to taper a bit and I can already tell the symptoms are better. My urine is lighter and comes out easier. I haven't pooped yet so idk about that. I think these symptoms were made worse by me smoking different spice blends for about 10 days with exactly 2 bad trips where I felt like I was having a stroke. I've got 5 days off the spice and don't plan on starting again so hopefully that helps.

That actually sounds way more like renal dysfunction than hepatic dysfunction. Drink lots of water and continue to taper off I'd say.

This is the problem with taking drugs that haven't been extensively tested and determined to be safe for humans. There's no way to know if you're in immediate danger or not and attempting to diagnose you would only be speculation and could do more harm than good. I'm closing this thread for that reason.

Because of the severity of your symptoms, I strongly advise that you seek immediate medical attention. This could well be your life on the line here, it's worth any minor hassle or embarrassment. You're not going to get in legal trouble and only a medical professional can tell you whether you're well enough to taper vs immediate cessation.

PM me if you have any questions or would like to update this thread after you've (hopefully) been seen by a doctor.
