I just took 50mg of Methadone and......

I just took 50mg of Methadone about 12 hrs ago and I usually take oxy but this morning I took the Methadone and I feel shitty kinda and I wanna know how long until it's cool to take oxy. I never take Methadone so I don't have it built up in my system. Thanks.

I would say wait at least 24 hours before you take any oxycodone, or any other opioid for that matter.
 
It's weird last night about 14-16hr's after I took my last 20mg of Methadone which I took 50mg throughout the entire day. I took 20mg of Methadone at 2am then 10mg at 6am then 20mg around 8am. Well last night around 11:30pm or so I took 90mg of Oxy which is my norm and I felt it kinda but it just made me sleepy kinda but about 45min I took 90mg again about 45min and it's making nod and I never do that. You think it's the Methadone or should it pretty much out of my system by now. I can def feel the Oxy work but I don't have that warm buzz feeling as much as usual but I'm nodding some. I never take Methadone and I was gonna quit Oxy and take Methadone but long story short I can't get more Methadone but I can get Suboxone so I'm going to take Oxy for a day until the Methadone is out completely. It's been almost 24hr's since I took my last 20mg dose of Methadone, should it be gone soon and how long until it stops hampering the effects of Oxy?? I know it takes long time Methadone users like a week but what about a one time user like me who took 50mg about 24hr's ago. Thanks.
 
If anything, you may have to wait another 12-24 hours but you should be able to feel the oxycodone more and more. Methadone's half life is quite long, but is it also quite variable from person to person.

Just make sure you've waited at least 72 hours after you took the methadone, and at least 12 hours after you took the oxycodone (ideally 24) before you take the Suboxone.
 
yea 3 day wait on metha if ur plannin for subox wait til ur in full suicidal withdraw puking shitting sweating nose runnin u need to be worse then u ever been or the subox will make u worse then u ever been and then it takes more of ur norm opie to get srt8 like im talkin do subox get sick gotta do a 50 shot to feel normal no high just not sick. and fuck subox unless ur only doin for 36 hr at max cause after that every pill u take has 2-4 days withdraw connected so u been on subox for a year ur gonna be sick for longer.
 
Methadone is not an opiate blocker like suboxone is. The reason you should wait would be more related to the danger of overdosing. When people complain about not being able to feel their drug of choice while on methadone, that is more related to the fact that their tolerance has been dramatically increased by the constant dosing of methadone. I've talked to my doctor about this. There is a partial blocking effect from the receptors being filled by the methadone but it isn't the same as suboxone in that respect. You say that you aren't on methadone regularly so I wouldn't suggest that you combine methadone and oxy again, that's a good way to overdose.
 
The reason you can't feel other opioids on methadone is because methadone is long acting and it binds to the opioid receptors. No opioid can kick methadone out of the receptors, except strong opioids like heroin/morphine, hydromorphone, oxymorphone, levorphanol, or fentanyl and in high doses.

It is very dangerous to try to take very high doses of other drugs to kick methadone out of the receptors.
 
I take methadone on a daily basis and if i take any other opiate NOTHING happens no hi no nothing thats because like many have said in this thread that methadone is a very strong
opiate blocker be careful mixing opiates like that its a good way to OD and methadones half life is very long.
 
^ It's not a "blocker". It binds to the opioid receptors and other opioids cannot kick the methadone off of the receptors.
 
Methadone is definitely a different kind of high compared to the other opiates. It definitely works great for my back pain as I tried it once but it raises the tolerance which is something I dont like.
 
Is it really a 3 day wait until I can safely take Suboxone?? I only have enough Oxy for another day so I'll never make it 72 hours.
