I failed a ua for Benzodiazepine, but I dont even know what that is, can someone help me? I take 9 mg of melatonin at night and 30 mg of fluoxitine(Prozac) in the morning if that helps...

Eh, what a twat 8o. Glad I don't have to take drug tests on probation in the UK. They'll find out the truth in the end. If you haven't had any benzos it will come back as a false positive.

For my husbands job he had a false positive for meth and for cocaine.. lol... he has panic disoder and can't even drink caffeine really. It was below the amount in the system to indicate a positive but it was still there.. not sure on how all of it really works but... it all said there was meth and coke in his blood stream when there wasn't. Not all tests are "perfect".

Don't fret to hard, they will get to the bottom of this and you will be fine. Good luck :)

Yeah im on probation, but the guy who came to my house give me the test thing and dumped out my urine?

Did you sign a piece of paper?

they dumped out your urine which is supposed to go to the lab... they have no physical evidence unless you signed... i hope you didn't sign

thenn don't worry, if it becomes a problem say where is the proof u didn't take any benzos........

But I really didnt, I dont wanna pull that, how long do they stay in ur system, could I do another one tomorrow to prove it?

My probation would send any positive test that you claimed to be false to the lab. They said that out of a 100 pack of dipstick tests, there were usually 8-10 false positives... Thats pretty high, and why they would send it to the lab.

Benzodiazepines are minor tranquillizers with sedative properties. They are prescribed for a variety of reasons such as combating anxiety/panic attacks, sleep-aids, seizure disorders, muscle relaxants and to produce amnesia (for operations). However some people abuse them for other reasons like to combine with other drugs to enhance their effects, drug comedowns and there are people who just abuse them without any other drug. Rather common. Thats the reason they test for it.

I have no idea why benzodiazepines showed up on your drug test though. The Melatonin and Prozac aren't even drugs that have the potential to show up as false-positives for benzos. I have no clue.
