I just bought two san pedro cuttings....

... they are each about 10 inches long, and I want to root them, but I am now reading that I have to wait for them to "scab" over first before planting them.

They were freshly cut today just above the root system, (from a head shop downtown), and the guy had to cut them off because I didn't want to buy his whole supply.

Is this necessary? Would planting them as they are today be bad? Would they die?

Please any advice would be appreciated, thanks:)

its aout 7 feeds down sorry i deleted the actual link dint wanna get in trouble av still not turned blue yet!

if you plant them without letting the cut dry your cactus will rot. let it dry it only takes a week or two, and drying the cut wont slow down the rooting process.
 
Aw great thanks, I'm gonna follow this pdf's advice, this person seems to know what he/she is doing.
