I was told before it was even better to eat grapefruit than drinking the juice. I know red is not optimal, but I ate a really huge one sliced into about 12 pieces.

Will this have any tinkering on either xanax or valium (I have both), I know I've had grapefruit stickers on xanax before on my bottles of xanax, I hear it works with valium too but not sure, so I'm asking the hivemind here.

according to a bunch of users, white grapefruit juice tends to potentiate benzos a good amount. Never tried it myself but hope it works. Can u update on your experience?

Really interested of whether grapefruit (juice) potentiation is a myth or not.

Please update if you do it!

I was told here a few years ago that eating an actual grapefruit works as well as juice.

I'm rx'd 2 benzos, valium 10mg twice a day and I get 15 1mg xanax a month. When out of valium for some reason, eating a grapefruit and then take 1mg of xanax made it last all day. Just updatin'

That's what I'm talking about. Well, not all benzos, but some of 'em. It's shitty it doesn't work with oxazepam, because a girl I know since years helps me out sometimes when out of benzos for 3-4 days cos well, some days I would need more and some days I get by with just half of what i'm scripted. Problem with oxazepam is having 60mg (2x30mg), you'll get some of the best anxiolysis....1h later after eating it, and it will last 30 minutes if lucky. And you can't improve it with eatin the fruit, damnit. Guess that's why all the people I've known with rx to oxazepam (women, all of them, like ativan in fact), is that they gotta take a dose every 3-4 hours.

I had a thought that gfj might have a greater effect on Valium than xanex because of the difference in how these two drugs are metabolized. From what I understand (maybe I'm mistaken) xanex has two main metabolites that have relatively no effect on the strength or quality of the experience, while Valium metabolize first into temazepam OR oxazepam (as in some of both), both of which then metabolize into nordazepam, which Is also active. Therefore, I believe that gfj would enhance the overall strength and duration of this drug, as well as the quality of the high by increasing and changing the relative amounts of these metabolites that are produced, temazepam being more hypnotic/ euphoric and oxezepam being more anxiolytic/muscle relaxant. Basically it seems that the high from Valium depends more upon its metabolism than xanex does, so substances that affect metabolism would enhance it to a greater extent. Hope this helps!
