That right there. Readers that happen to work at McDonald’s or any other essential service industry, please disregard this ass. Be proud you’re working. And I for one am thankful for you.These are unprecedented times. Not all engineers are employed. Also finding employment right now (unless you want to do something like work at mcdonalds or slightly over min wage warehouse jobs) is extremely hard.
I know a lot of people out of work right now. Even in normal times people take time off / not well enough to work. Consider covid and engineers that are homeless and may never engineer again are probably pretty common.
Some forward momentum better than none. Small paycheck better than none. I’ve met some good folks on here, however, there is a significant number of the upper middle class on the tit till mid twenties crowd that I’m torn over.
On one hand irks me that their opinion of themselves is such that they make comments such as above. They only comprehend smooth waters. In a crisis, first to fold.
In the other, I adore them. I bill them at 60 per hour with a four hour minimum which they gladly pay to keep from changing lightbulbs above 10 feet off the ground are cleaning out their gutters
