I lived with a guy once that had a major psychotic episode, he had no other family (to speak of) so my housemate and I were the ones to take him through the steps of being assessed and finally admitted to a psych ward. the major incident that led to our reporting him (to the crisis assessment team) was him going missing for 2 nights (after a show in another town), and then him finally turning up with a batch of blood that was headed for a pathology lab in another town. the breakdown of the 2 days had him going for a midnight swim naked, coming out of the water and not finding his clothes, breaking into a nearby house and rearranging some of the furniture, and then committing some sacred rituals (magic?) while in the front yard of this strangers house. all completeley naked. he managed to finally find his way onto a train headed in the right direction the next day but said as he was passing the blood esky, he saw that it had his name on in, so he'd decided to bring it home.
he had been on edge for a while, was reading the chaos theory and exploring the concept of higher powers etc.. but when he asked me to leave the room so that he could have a private conversation with his cat, I knew that he had gone beyond the point of where I alone could help him.
one other thing was that when the assessment team arrived, my friend admitted that he had just smoked a little weed (completely unbeknown to us), that little cherub of disclosure cost us all another 3 days of exploriing the infinite potentiation of fractals and cat conversation watching, as the team wouldn't take him in until he was 3 days clean.
if this post is for real, someone around this person needs to act..
