I have a drug testing question

As I mentioned in a thread a couple weeks ago, I took some heat from my PM doctor for coming up negative for opiates (oxy) on my most recent drug test. Basically, I ran out of my script about 5 days early. Because of this, I am going to be tested more frequently (this coming Monday).

For those in pain management:

1) How many meds would you hold aside for the drug test?
2.) When would you take them knowing you'll be tested on Monday AM?
3.) Are these tests pretty much pass/fail? For example, do they look for specific levels of a drug or patterns in which they are taken (if even possible?) - or is it simply pass/fail?

I know that a mod is going to shut this down and state "we don't allow drug-testing .....", but I would greatly appreciate if they would allow this to be answered prior to doing so. I'm not allowed to "fail" (come up clean) another test issued by PM. I just want to be sure that I have my stuff straight.

1)- enough to test positive, 45 mgs or so the day before the test or a few hours before,

2)- id take em sunday night

3)- im not exactly sure, never had PM.

You're right they will likely close this. The only advice I can offer is have someone you trust hold your pills and dole them out to you. I was in pain management for several years and ran out early many times. Doctors take this seriously and won't hesitate to discharge you for non-compliance.

Thanks to both you and smokemc- for the responses. I agree that doctors take it seriously; especially mine. He made it clear that if I show up negative again he HAS to stop scripting me. I really did try hard this past two weeks and I am doing much better than I have in the past. I'm only 2 days away from my next visit and I actually still have a few. Just weeks ago, I was in the hole almost a week in advance regularly.

I know "take it as prescribed and you won't run out" is the right answer, unfortunately that is easier said than done at times.

To smokemc - just out of curiosity, where did you get that "45 mgs" response -- I'm just curious?

it was sort of random. i dont know your tolerance but i assume there is a little bit, hence the running out early and being scripted in the first place. so instead of starting low and having a chance of it being out quick just start at a moderate dose and do it the night before or a few hours the day of so it shows up positive. idk thats what i would have done.
