Best night ever, never thought everyone could be so plur.
Some crazy fucking basslines, and I felt so accepted. The entire crowd was cool, 1300 people who no matter what, had a good time, everything was perfect and everyone had tested pills+ checked pillreports/ avid responsible E user.
It was totally my type of people. Got my first few kandi, was my first rave.
Still a little brain farted from the K mix that night.

Anyways, It's 2 days later I had ridiculously scary dreams last night,
It always seems to happen. They're vivid as fuck, why is that?

Last night was ridiculously frightening, I'm going to have to start sleeping with my lights on again (Just started kicking this 3 year habit, and I've slept with night lights for 6 days now/ very prowd of myself)

Is there any way to prevent these?
Any post loads/pre loads that might help?

This can be any number of things. I found this only happened to me after abusing e for awhile and then stopping. I have no idea what the actual reason for it is (hell, we don't really understand what dreams are to begin with) and it always went away after about three our four days, so it was never a huge issue to me.

So.. yah =D Anyone else have any suggestions? I'm interested in hearing other people's thoughts on this :D

I don't know about any particular pre/post loads to help, perhaps other than strong sedating agents that tend to reduce the occurrence of dreams - but I don't know if you really want to go that way.

This is relatively common occurrence and pops up here every once in a while. It seems to happen when both when people use MDMA responsibly and when they abuse it. I would imagine it has something to with MDMA's effect on the levels of MAO in your brain which in turn somehow effects dream patterns and such. maybe decreased seratonin results in more negative dream or something as your brain requires some SERT to make aspects of your dream positive. <-- That last part is 100% pure speculation btw!

Firstmoment- that shit was dope, out of hundreds my fav. I dont think event names r allowed in ed, even spelled wrong.

I didn't put an event name anywhere?
Event names aren't allowed if you're taking drugs at that event (Which I did) so I didn't post the name. Lolwut?

MDMA has a large variety effects on releasing, inhibiting, etc many chemicals in the brain, to say these effects are from serotonin depletion is only part of the picture. The issue is more complex then that but to the OP:

If after mdma youre scared shitless to the point you need to sleep with the light on maybe you should take a break from abusing substances. Btw you are the same guy that posted about drinking your piss after ingesting MDMA so you get more "bang for the buck"? Maybe you should REALLY consider taking a break from drugs, look how far they have gotten you. A night of euphoric dancing in trade for a life of desperation and fear...

I've got extreme paranoai as it is. I don't abuse MDMA, it's after EVERY time. I've had to sleep with the lights on ever since Acid., different drug that has me in this childish mentality. But still, every time I roll I just have nightmarish dreams.

And yes, I'm the same guy that posted that, I'm poor, don't care if any of you find it fiendish, I roll on a 2-3 month basis, and I'm very responsible with my drugs.

MDMA has gotten me so much more than it's taken, unlike every other drug. (MDMA and adderol too :O)

i have had the same dreams, i believe it has something to do with Serotonin because when i started taking 5hpt, the bad dreams went away and i was glad.. cuz lety me tell u damn those dreams seemed like real life, i had a dream my wife was fuckin around on me and it seemed so real i woke up and bitch slapped her in her sleep.... not a good move but seemed right at the time lol no good.....

i would start to take 5hpt, 1 100mg capsule 2 hours before bed..

and also something trippy i noticed was that if u take 200mg a day one in morning one at night, u get crazy real dreams but they are pretty cool dreams... best wet dream i ever had! lol

The nights after MDMA use produces vivid and bizarre dreams for me. They are rarely so horrendous that I still think about them when I am awake.

Are you experiencing sleep paralysis? The first few times I experienced this I was extremely frightened.

Is the "dream" seem like you seeing yourself sleeping from a far off distance? You sense a presence that may or not be malevolent. You also feel paralyzed, like your limbs are bound by rope and your mouth is sealed shut.

You wake up and are relieved but it repeats itself as soon as you start to fall asleep again.

in one dream i was trying to fight off someone that broke into my home and when i threw a punch, i could feel in my dream like my arms where under water and couldnt swing, and im not so sure about mouth sealed maybe.... what is sleep paralysis?

This isn't exactly the same scenario but it could be related. When I was in my early teens I was on antidepressants, and anytime I stopped taking them I had wicked scary dreams.

I used to always have this one where I was trapped in a room that was filling up with water, but I was also trapped in the dream, like I knew I was dreaming but couldn't wake up. I would actually feel the physical pain of drowning before I woke up!

I know MDMA and most types of antidepressants affect serotonin levels, maybe its the sudden depletion of serotonin or the shock to your brain that causes them?

I don't normally get them after rolling, but when I was young and stupid and doing them all the time I had some pretty vivid dreams, some good/some bad.

might want to try taking melatonin the first few nights...

I actually use melatonin sometimes for sleep aid, but I don't feel like I recover nearly as quick (Placebo or not, Recovery an health postload/pre load is very important to me, I get a LOT of Vitamin C in because I most of the time get sick, and since I've been getting lots of vitaminc/5htp tryptophan etc I at least feel like I'm doing something about the harm I've done)

Anywho, It's still just the MDMA, regaurdless if I've taken anything prior or post. 2 days is the mark ;/

Could be. My girlfriend actually usually shares the scary dreams with me a day or two after, but seems to have them most of the time as well.
We dose the same, about 40 pounds different (I'm bigger(, She's MUCH healthier than I am, and I pre/post load much more often.
I feel like that's some to factor in :O

Brief Overview of Sleep Paralysis

You might have experienced this Vincent because it is associated with serotonin and drug interactions. Whatever it may be, it should decrease over time if you moderate your MDMA usage.

Regarding the differences between you and your girlfriend, she is expected to have an easier time recovering between rolls because of her long term habits.

James

You don't experience an actual dream in the common sense during sleep paralysis. It's more of experiencing a sleeping dream state and an awake state at the same time.

Sometimes you will feel as if you are levitating and you can focus in on various parts of your room, like a glowing light or fixture. The presence you sense seems demonic and alien, yet strangely benign. The scary part is that you want to escape and evade but you are frozen and mute.

This fear is magnified when you realize this repeats itself the moment you drift back to sleep.

That just blew my fucking mind.

I know exactly what the fuck that is.

fucking woah.

The next time it happens, just calm yourself and wait for it to pass.

This is much easier said then done because I read somewhere that the "presence" you sense is caused by activation of areas of your brain associated with alertness and vigilance. Some people claim to enjoy this though...I cannot comprehend how they feel that way.

It will decrease over time as long as you are responsible with spacing out your MDMA use and dosage.

i believe it has to do with serotonin and/or other neurotransmitters levels. i only get this when i get brain zaps..do you get zaps also along with your dreams?

most of them consists of what i was during a couple hours prior to going to bed. as soon i go to bed and the zaps come on i fall into these dreams..i would being doing what i did befor i went to bed. playing with the kitten while my roomates/frens studied, i felt like i was being pulled back and feeling of death coming upon me, like death him self was behind me pulling me to my death. i would yell at my frens "help me! help me!" screaming louder and louder as i fell back, trying to grab on to them. as i fell farther back everything would fade to black and here a ring in my ears..wake up scared shetless! sometimes even screaming. i would go outside and ask my frens if they heard me yelling for them. i even got my fone ready to call my room mate.

the last time i got it bad it was accompanied along with sleep paralysis..its funny to think about it now but the dream started off with me being attacked by a cat, like it would jump at me and try and scartch me and do it again, my arms didnt work to well trying to knock the cat away, as it went on a another cat would appear and do that too me and i got more concerned and starting asking my room mate what the fuck is going on control your fucken cats. the more worried i got the more cats appeared. i thought i was going to die and started fighting back as hard as i could finally waking up to find my self unable to move and looking at my table and closet..i was experience the zaps and they were bad at this point, i could feel the zap building up again and this feeling of falling back into the dream state, i knew instantly where this was going. i went through this 4 or 5 more times each time waking up to paralysis and falling back into the dream until the last one where i woke up yelling and flinging my arms and hitting my pillow off my bed.

i cant say if pre/post loading will work, i do that anyways, i seem to experience it when im being irresponsible and abusing MDMA. its just sign telling to slow the fuck down! i think if you let the dream get the best of you and scare you shetless, itll make your more scared. reminding your self its just a dream and keep emotions intact can help ease the experience. the dreams normally finish after normally finished a few days after its starts.

oh last but not least smoking weed intensify these dreams for me..dont worry they'll be over soon

I know what this is, but that's not what happens, I'm just speaking of epic nightmares.
