Lysergamides I got no Air Conditioning for this summer, I was wondering do I need to worry about high temps degrading my blotters?

How high of a temperature is too high for long-term storage of blotters and shrooms my room averages 80-82 F sometimes it cools down to 75 at best during last few summer months. I got no idea if long-term storage at this temperature is feasible or if I will notice a significant loss in potency sooner rather than later?

Dark and dry is more important than cool. I've heard of people keeping tabs in the glovebox of a hot car all summer and they've still slapped. I always store mine at room temperature and they make it through the summer fine.

Wrapping your tabs in tin foil and putting them in the middle of a thick book will keep them dry and dark and help with the cool. Should be good for years.

Okay good to know and I understand you want it at room temperature but that can be drastically different depending on your location so? I've also had personal experiences of tabs going bad in very hot weather too idk it might of been the humidity more than the heat itself now that I think about it though.

@Ismene2 What would you classify as "room temperature" like is that 85 Degrees Fahrenheit or less or is "room temperature" even higher than that like 90-95 Fahrenheit degrees.

I know most medication in Europe will recommend long-term storage at the temperature of 20-25C Degrees in Celsius just to emphasize which would be like 25C = 77F I think? Do you think maintaining an ambient room temperature of 77F or less to be overkill or a perfect temperature that is somewhat practical and will make a difference compared to long-term storage at higher temperatures than that?

Please all opinions are welcome and those recommendations that based on some type of fact or logical science is even better obviously lol.

I don't think it matters whether it's 85 or 95 - pop it inside some tin foil inside a book somewhere and I've had blotters last at least 15 years with no degrading in potency.

Don't you possess a refrigerator?

I tried leaving it in the freezer once but I noticed the blotter got "freezer burn" - so the blotter started disintegrating a bit.

I got some AL-lad - must be about 14 years ago now - at the time there was this thing about "Al-lad is really unstable so you have to take great care with them". Anyway I wasn't keen on Al-lad so I just chucked them inside a book and left them for about a decade. I gave them to someone last year and he said it blew his head off. I think this idea that LSD like compounds are unstable is an urban myth.

But if the OP wants piece of mind, I'd recommend sticking sellotape to both sides of the blotters (takes a bit of chewing, but they still work well), placing inside an airtight container with a sachet of silica gel, then leaving in a fridge door shelf. Ticks all the boxes. No light, no moisture, no heat and no oxygen.

I agree that its totally not necessary though...

The only other reason i wouldnt store it in the fridge is I remember the fucking woodentops finding my 2 kilos of san pedro cactus in the freezer - charged me with possession of 2 kilos of "mescaline". They'll never find anything again the dreadful cunts.

@Ismene2

If only 2Kilo of San Pedro was the equivalent of 2Kilo Mescaline, right ;)

On topic: I've stored various lysergamides at ambient temperatures for decades at a time and they still worked fine.

Freezers hold moisture and the refrigerator doesn't

"Refrigerators work to remove moisture that is naturally present in the air inside of the appliance"

Good info. One time many years ago I put tabs in the freezer and that also was the last time. I bet moisture got to is as it worked but less. 9 out of 10 batches last for years and stay potent. Ever so often a batch will degrade without any apparent reason. I don't think it has to do with quality. But i have had blotters and gels kick years after they were gotten.

Shulgin: LSD is stable but fragile.

It would be a fuckin miracle if that were the case

I'd tried saying that to them but they said they knew best. To this day I'm still the biggest mescaline bust in the western hemisphere.

The lawyer was fucking useless too - to find a good drug lawyer you have to search high and low. None of the cunts know anything about drugs whatsoever. A few months after I was busted they busted a shop for cactus in London somewhere - took them to court and the case got thrown out because they had a good lawyer who knew dried cacti didn't quaIify as a "Preparation" as you can't eat dried cactt and the case got thrown out. I wrote to try and find out if I could get my conviction quashed but the big cheese in charge of prosecutions said that because I was also convicted of having a thousand capsules of dried mushrooms it wouldn't make any difference taking off the cacti conviction.

They even hit me with "importation of 2 kilos of mescaline" as well as possession.

I'd like to go to the states but I would have to chance it and tick the "no convictions for crimes of moral turpitude" box on the plane - I would probably get through cos it's a while ago now but if they stopped me at the US airport and sent me back it would be too expensive.

An ex I have is not able to travel to the states anymore. He got caught with a single joint when he was 18 (41 now).
He went down for work training one time..he was randomly selected to get looked into further. Ended up having to return home.
Made for an awkward call to his boss at the time. Apparently he was looked at in the same way as murderers and rapists .. all because of one single joint 20+ years ago.
