Haha yea that's true. It took me a while to realize how something like that could last 70 years without being used. I know if I had that stash, I would use every single last drop of it. Even though it sounds like OD in a bottle.
 
just have to give a +1 to the people who suggested keeping it as a collectible.

even if it is still viable (probally not, and not safe either. you dont even know if its still the original contents), i would rather keep it in tact. if i were in your position, i would take the whole lot, keep a couple for myself and sell the rest to antique stores (if that's legal?). but, i'm personally fascinated by such items, and would get the bottles even if they were empty.

I mean originally. The OP said cases right? Not like one bottle, for collectors sake, but like multiple bottles. Somebody was stocking up right before WWII. Wish we could find out who bought these bottles originally, why they were never discarded.

^ the scenario i envisioned was a collector stumbling upon a case or two of them at an abandoned warehouse or something. they might not have ever been purchased retail style back when it was available. if i was a collector and found that shit i would buy it up, no matter how many bottles there were. those could probably sell for a pretty penny, and you could still keep a few for your own collection.

..but im not a collector im a fiend so i would find other uses for them. (if i found them half a century ago, that is)

there were literally hundreds of these different "medications" available before the government became stricter in regards to sale of pharmaceuticals, especially ridiculous combinations like this one. companies could really just throw a bunch of shit in a bottle and sell it OTC without the stringent testing that current drug companies are subjected to.

...so i wouldnt be surprised if there are a whole bunch of these cases lying around full of different brews all over the country.

Nothing, it was just a random thought. It's something you could try as an experiment. I edited my post after re-reading this thread. I originally thought you had more than one bottle, but if the cannabis is mixed in with the morphine sulfate in one tincture there's really not much you can do. Keep it as a collectible or sell it to someone who will.
 
Here is how it was explained to me. This old man/lady died. Her kin took a TON of shit to the ebay store after they failed to get rid of it in an estate sale. An estate sale is when someone dies and they have a whole house of shit. They through up an 'estate sale' sign and you just walk through their house and buy whatever you want. The lady thought it was neat and just kept the bottle for herself. Who knows, this stuff could be vetenary medicine. I live in a West Texas.

I just hope I don't have to get mega stoned to cop an opiate buzz. Or have to get super barred out to catch a morphine buzz.



And, its cannabis extract in the bottle, not straight pot vegatation. The liquid is a bit more viscous than straight liqour. I bet they just soaked pot with the alcohol and strained, then added the other cool drugs.

What the listed amounts? You say they are in grains?
 
Okay, I got the pictures and a few other crazy oldschool pharms. The deal is, its ona compact flash card and I can't find the USB cable for my camera and my compact flash reader's drivers arn't working in windows vista. I am going to my buddies here within an hour or 2 and going to get the pics of my CF card.

Within 6 hours, OD, you will have your pictures.
 
Alright, I don't have time to talk about it tonight, but there was a TON of crazy shit over there. I decided agaisnt drinking it. It was 2 grains morphine sulfate per fl oz, 60mg cannabis extract, amonia, peppermint oil, and chloroform.

The phenobarbital was in a different syrup.


The reason why I am not taking it is because you should have seen the bottle it was stored next too. Some of them were leaking. Some contained CRAZY poisons. Like, legendary colorless odorless death sentence poisons. All sorts of nuts shit. I'd sooner drink it if it was stored near the cleaning chemicals under the sink.

this stuff was litterally sitting next to, and in a pile of small glass bottles filled to the brim with things like arsnic and cyanide and shit like that. I dont remeber all the poisons, but I did wash my hands 3 times before smoking a ciggerette. There were like 5-6 different kinds of strychnine. No.Joke.

Welll damn, that is handy. I really really really wana try this shit, but these bottles were leaking and shit. The cap was barely even on. The stuff is 1m *whatever m is* and 1 mg of morphine per ML. I wonder why they put chloroform in it. Anyone know what medical value that could of had?
 
i wouldn't touch it.. that cork could've been shoved in there at any time... i don't think it is a safe idea to ingest anything from that old bottle.. empty it out and put it on a shelf.. makes a great story!
