Just smoke some herbals and swallow a morphine pill, or do some heroin if you're into that (your name is smackem, so I guess you IV). Don't waste that antique.
Plus, it will probably make you sick as hell.
 
I would think the ethanol and ammonia in it would preserve it well.

I don't still now if I would take it.
 
TBH I'm sort of curious what this stuff would taste like, considering that I have chewed every pill I've taken at least once.....but it's not a good idea.
 
How can you expect drugs like phenobarbital and morphine sulfate to remain stable for 70 years? In a pharmacy they have a shelf-life of 2 to 5 years! Besides, have you checked wether this is not a topical drug (a lotion to be used on the skin or on a wound, to relieve pain or inflammation). In that case swallowing it is out of the question.
 
Some of these comments are a sad indictment of people who've obviously taken so many risks with drugs in the past, that the attitute they adopt has become 'hey, what's one more?'. I'm hope it doesn't apply to most of you, but how could you morally be encouraging him to drink that stuff?

How is a possible high in any way worth risking all the variables involved?
 
I had the chance 3 days ago to buy an old 1920's-1930's syringe. It was all handmade glass and was made in 3 parts. It had many different gauges of removable needles to. It was at an auction and some old lady out bid me. =(
 
Ohh yeah and my thoughts on this thread are....dont use it. Im shur the fun of having that could last longer than any high youll get. Plus like many others said, its 78 years old...does not sound to safe. I bet all the drugs have broken down anyway.
 
I would test the drugs if possible out of curiousity but don't consume them! For one they will have lost all potency, for two....... its just not a good idea. 75 year old dr00gz?
 
Even if the bottle has the original contents in there and they have not degraded (which is unlikely), that shit sounds like an OD in a bottle: a barbiturate, morphine and 100 proof alcohol. Damn.

Its all in the same syrup! I only listed one bottle! I know that morphine/pheno/pot will all be stable given it wasn't stored on the front porch or on the roof. It is fully sealed in a tinted glass bottle.

The doses are on the bottle, I just don't remeber them.
 
Wow, I'm glad I asked. If the OD forum wholly says no, I might just have to pass. It has all the doses and ingrediants listed on the front. I wouldn't be worried about OD-ing, I can take the least amount possible until a buzz hits.

I have no idea how they would have taken the cork out and replaced it without damaging the cork. So it really does appear unopened to me. Whaddya say I gnab it anyway, cause it will only be a few bucks, and I'll post some pics. Maybe we can figure out an easy way to test the contents. It sounds like the medicine is gonna taste like ASSHOLE. morphine sulfate tastes like ass and im pretty sure pheno barbital does too, and depending on how they extracted the pot, its pretty nappy too.

It was something like 1/2th grain of morphine per fl oz or something, but don't quote me on that. I'll get a picture of something and post it so you guys get a better idea of what I am talking about.
 
Not going to side yea or nea on consumption, but thought I would give you some tips.

Morphine is VERY stable if stored correctly, all opiate alkaloids are. You can find many cases of antique century old opium being consumed to good effect.
But that is if stored in the dark with a low stable temp etc, you have no clue where these bottles were stored.
 
100 proof alcohol means there will be no bacteria.


so, unless those chemicals decay into poisons, it will be fine.



HOWEVER, you do not know if it is the original contents.....
 
Take it if you.... if your willing to risk your life. For me personally i would rather go thur withdrawls again then take that. It just sounds to sketchy to me. Especially with the fact that medicine labels from that era are notoriously faulty. I say drain them and keep the bottles as an awesome souvenir.
 
Buy it, post some pics.

Mail it to someone in Holland. Their government provides free GM/MC testing on all chemicals for free!
