Earth is 4600 Million years old. If we could condense this inconceivable time-span into an understandable concept, we can liken out Mother Earth to a person of 46 years of age. Nothing is known of the first 7 years of Mother Earth's life, and whist only scattered information exists about the middle span, we know that at the age of 42 did Earth begin to flower. Dinosaurs did not appear until one year ago, when Earth was 45. Mammals arrived only 8 months ago, in the middle of last week, human-like apes evolved into ape-like humans, and by the weekend the last ice age enveloped Earth. Modern humans have been around 4 hours. During the last hour we discovered agriculture. The industrial revolution began a minute ago. During those sixty seconds of biological time humans have ransacked Earth of her fuels, run hundreds of our fellow animal species into extinction, polluted beyond salvation and now stand proud of ascendancy to domination. We have taken a torch to this paradise and are watching it burn. Will human apathy and ignorance totally destroy this oasis of life in the solar system and ironically destroy the human race along with it? Act now.
