I feel so dumb, or, to be fair to myself, ignorant, for I am clueless...

20 years in the computer software field, primarily as instructor/tech support, and I never know how to get started on these forum -type things. Mainly because I never, ever use any 'social media'...
Sure, I have a f***b**k account. I may log in three times a year, I'll post something, one of my 8 or 9 friends may 'like' it or comment on it, but two weeks later, I'll delete the post.

I really have no interest in having any part of my life available online for anyone to see.
But since the mid-eighties, I have used, once in awhile, THESE types of forums, mainly to have folks to talk to for car maintenance stuff. In the ancient days of the nascent internet, I did do a lot of posting to a site called "The Phlogistician's Corner", it doesn't exist anymore. Googling it brought up nothing, no luck on the Internet Archive/Wayback Machine either. At any rate, all my posts had to do with the kinds of things posted here. But back then, I was without a doubt, the expert in the room, at least as far as coke and dope and IV and smoking stuff was concerned. Now, HERE, I'm not even an amateur... I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO POST A QUESTION!!! THAT is the entire point of THIS post. I don't know how to get started, so I opened a post. I need to learn some stuff. PLEASE, anyone, feel free to reply or comment or whatever it is you do here, so I can get a thread started, and learn a few things. THANX for reading... jdg

Thanx for the reply, Think I'm getting the idea here. I'm sometimes horrible at reading FAQS, in my various jobs, the quickest way to get real knowledge was to know who to tap on the shoulder when you had a question, and WHEN to tap them. So, I do a quick post, (actually thought I read *somewhere* in the introductory material that I couldn't do much, until I had done 50 something-elses), Anyhoo, I think I've got 1/4 of my sea legs, so I'll just read and learn until I know where to put my question...

THANX for the reply, Yup, just wanted to get a little bit feet wet, now I am comfortable with the interface, (I guess a lot of forum type sites use some available 'forum running' software, they all look so similar), my background is strictly vertical-market software, (written for very specific types of businesses), and a LOT of database stuff, (worked for years at an RDBMS company, (NOT Oracle), and got a lot of experience with helping folks configure and use OUR DB software to write THEIR OWN applications. But f***b**k, Twi**er, Inst**ram, My**ace, ??? Never touch the stuff, so I'm often out of my element or comfort zone, except on the auto maintenance forums.

Actually, one thing, some quick browsing, (unstructured, just poking around), and I didn't see a post NEWER than 2009. I know THAT can't be right, if anyone feels the need to point me in the direction of recent coke/dope problems and solutions threads, feel free, WHILE I GO and look at the search engine capability as it relates to date-range/thread subject qualifications...
