I feel nervous every time I take something now

Does anyone feel the same? I remember when I first got into it would do anything and not give a shit, but as times gone on and i've had my handful of bad experiences I get a sense of nerves everytime before I take something which is bad cos thats makes it more likely to have a bad experience again. I've had at least one bad (not always unbearable but just uncomfortable high type of thing) experience on everything i've done (mephedrone, coke, mandy, pills, ket, benzo fury). The only thing I haven't had any bad experiences on is speed but its just a general feeling to all drugs now lol.
I don't do drugs so often now so haven't had bad experiences in a while, but still get the nerves everytime before I take something. I have to drink a bit before I do anything now just to stop this. Do any users feel the same? Miss having the old "don't give a fuck" attititude lol.

Well, not really. The only drug that made me anxious after 20 years of consumption is cannabis. But I got over it and now enjoy it again.

Don't do the drug if you know that you'll feel nervous, that's all I can say ;)

The opposite has happened to me. I remember being really worried about taking 0.5 mg Xanax for my first time, didn't take long before I was upping the dose, throwing together combinations, getting really fucked up etc.

Sounds like a mixture of anxiety and classical conditioning, plus perhaps a natural growing up and realising that drug experiences can be bad as well as good..

You can try CBT-style techniques where you challenge the negative thoughts by thinking okay, I may have had oine bad experience with this drug, but that happens to most people at soke point and it doesn't mean it will happen to me again - I've had lots of positive experiences..

Alternatively, it may be time to take a break? If it's just pre-nerves then it will likely be easier to overcome but if you still feel anxious even after you've come up then it may be that stims etc aren't for you, or that they are bringing out pre-existing anxiety which you could think about tackling in your life in general...

A low dose of a benzo could in theory help with anxiolysis but in my opinion that is a slippery slope, starting to need to take a physically and psychologically addictive drug evey time you take anything else.. plus it can really dampen the experience of many drugs, nd generally polydrug abuse is a bad path to head down. I'd advise you not to go down that route, but to try to address the psychological cause..

Remember the importance of set and setting too. If you are taking drugs in a safe-feeling environment, with people you trust, the overall experience is far more likely to be positive.

Good luck! <3

Yea it's all in your head , but iv been there bro. I think the strong stimulants like meph and MDMA bring those feelings out tbh, that's when i started to feel a little uncomfortable when i would pop things. Just stay strong , as long as you know your doses just tell your self its impossible to die. It'll pass with time

When in-doubt, tell sum1 (who will remain sober during your use) - as long as a trusted person knows your doing a substance, they can make sure you dont passout, or start vomiting, or convulsing under its influence. In public, only worry about "public intoxication" laws, and never carry an illicit (or any substance) with you, as probable cause is enough for detainment (or jail time) till they discover the substances true identity.

dont be nervious with drugs, when used properly at least. DO your homework, and know your risk and what to do incase of emergency under its side-effects.

Each of the chems you mentioned are rather "dirty" in their nature. Often cut, poorly synthed, or just a bad chem for the brain. I'm not saying it's 100% the reason, but I personally have noted similar effects from "shitty" stims, more so than, say, adderall (amph hcl) or quality coke. More of a head-fuck due to the "ugh I'm taking un-pure stuff blahhh" kinda thing.

With psychoactive chemicals it's entirely up to you as to how it's going to go. One of the best bits of "trippin advice" I got from my pops is "Always keep a smile on your face" and it definitely helps (even when you're sober! or angry! just smile and you'll feel better!). For a long time I was rather terrified of rolling or tripping; I felt as if I was on the brink of sanity and was literally any moment away from falling to the other side. Very difficult to really conceptualize, but it was a horrible feeling all the time. I changed up my life a bit, who I was spending my time with, and all trip-based anxiety is out the door. Set and setting is everything. Just being able to think "these are the best people around" while walking through the woods is an impressive feeling.

As effie had mentioned benzos; I personally take about a half-dose compared to my normal of clonazepam before I take most chemicals due to my overly-anxious nature. ~.25mg of the chemical is just enough to keep me level-headed while I'm off in the mental jungle gym and on lower doses I can converse with people just fine.

YMMV of course, know your mind, know your body. Best of luck!

I think most people have moments during their drug experiences that feel uncomfortable, its easy to say but you just need to go with it don't try and fight any bad feeling just face them down. I used to quite like speed psychosis when out ravin, would just dance it off like a loon.

I think earlier experiences with LSD probably helped, agreed with the above though its always good to have someone you can trust 100% and know the score then if you go off on a mad psychotic dilution they can reassure you its just that. My brother went off on one once many years ago on MDMA and speed and it showed the gaps in our relationship because he didn't trust me, even thought the dilution involved me.

I've never really suffered from anxiety from dilutions on drugs, just go with the flow, even of that feels like you totally letting go and might not come back, its always worked for me, especially with psychedelics and high dose MDMA and MDA ( which are in the same category IME)

To be honest, I think this can help you if you use it to your advantage, to control your drug use. I'm not worried about dying from high doses of pharmaceuticals, I'm more worried about tolerance and addiction. For example, I knew 0.5mg Xanax wouldn't hurt me since my non-benzo tolerant friends routinely would pop 2mg. The time eventually came when I was popping 0.5mg Xanax, 10mg Valium, 3 350mg Somas, and 100-200mg Lyrica, a 10mg hydro, about 2-3 times a day, so I guess you do get over it, lol.

And yeah, stay away from some of those dirty stims, like Meph. People I know who used to be heavy in to coke, amps, or mdma, are fucked up with long-term anxiety problems, especially when they smoke weed. People are so used to being in their little protected Xanax or Vicodin bubble that they just can't handle the raw psychedelic power of cannabis. When I tapered off benzos/GABA-ergics, the weed high blew me away again, I was in love. :D

I have that same experience with pot. I was a flower child back in the 90's. I loved it!! Then one day I thought I was having a heart attack. I knew I was dying but I did not know why. I went to the er and everything was ok. I soon linked it to the pot. I can not smoke it. I think my body might recognize it as stressed and I get anxiety. I hate it. I love the smell of it. That's just my opinion.
