Guess I was overly vague when I posted this... I was pretty heated when I wrote it. What I meant was that our morals and opinions have always matched well, very few differences. The points we have differed on haven't been important to us. Example, she's vegan and I'm not, neither stance bothers the other.
In our many years together we've shared a mostly agnostic stance about religion. About a year ago Mrs. Cautious "found Jesus", and she's gotten right into it. Prayer chains, bible studies, all that jazz. Apparently we already had a viewpoint close enough to the church, because there's been very little change to our previously mentioned moral harmony... Other than the "Jesus saves" bit I mean. Even then, we've had very few tense moments because of it.
The night I posted, she'd hit me with a bombshell comment. There's been a major scandal in our local community. Something I'm confident almost anyone would consider unacceptable that I'll just leave at "age related". We were talking about it and she told me I had no right to an opinion. Not from a "judge not lest ye be judged" point either. Rather, one who doesn't believe in the bible can call anything right or wrong. You can't have a moral unless it comes from god.
The coles notes of our fight... nothing is good or bad unless the magic man in the clouds says so. Whether someone's stealing a dollar, kicking a puppy, fucking their sister, or burning down an orphanage... if you think it's wrong for any reason other than because god says so, you're wrong. I accused her of being brainwashed. She'll pray for me.
