I ended up in the ER after my acid trip, nothing too serious, but is this normal?

I started off the day with one hit of acid and was smoking bowls throughout the day.

After maybe 7 hours of tripping, my gag reflex kept being set off. It made it too difficult to breathe, so I went to the ER and told them I thought it may be an allergic reaction. They gave me 2 benadril and prednisone. I fell asleep once I got home and felt perfectly normal in the morning.

Anyways, is that sort of thing normal? Should I try acid again to see if it was an allergic reaction to something I ate or drank?

Do you smoke cannabis daily? There seem to be a significant number of cases in which daily heavy users develop persistent nausea and vomiting and that condition is oddly improved when taking warm showers. Perhaps smoking more due to tripping triggered something similar.

At least that is the first that comes to my mind. Hope you have more fun with your future trips

Sounds like a good old fashioned LSD induced anxiety/freak out to me. A lot of people assume that the worst is over once you have peaked but I have seen plenty of people become confused and panic on the tail end of the trip. I agree that it would unlikely be an anaphylactic response that long after you consumed it. Smoking weed on LSD is also hit and miss even in seasoned pot smokers.

Should you do it again? Perhaps a lower dose and lay off the weed next time. If this sits well with you then I'd say you'd be fine but going into your next trip worried that something might go wrong will only be detrimental.
