How old is she? I agree that it's crappy she's leaving after all that time you supported her but if that is the lifestyle she's accustomed to, then she probably expects it. Not saying its right or wrong but at some point if she's not happy and you're not trying to remedy the money issues, then she's likely asking herself if it will change and realizing she can do better.

I'm not saying she's right or wrong and it certainly doesn't comfort you I'm sure. I've just been the dumper and the dumpee on both sides and it hurts either way.

The best revenge is to live well and make something of yourself. The one-horse town sucks balls. You could always pack up and move to a place with opportunity.

Girls do like men who have their stuff together and are not dependent on them. But regardless of the girl friend situation, you need to make some money and not spend it on drink or drugs. I think if you Improve your personal situation the girl problem will fade somewhat. Don't be afraid to take any job no matter how low-class it may be, so long as it reverses the downward slide in your finances and morale.
