So I regularly take 30 mg Restoril to sleep, and before that I was taking xanax 1 mg as needed and would usually take at least 2 mg at bedtime. So I tried just taking the Restoril to sleep at bedtime, but honestly it didn't work, so I have been taking the 2 mg xanax and the Restoril, and I usually also just because I have insane allergies take a couple benadryl as well at night just so everyone knows all the facts. Anyway so I am in this routine, and I have had horrid dental pain the past month after I got a filling, and I found out I need a root canal. It just so happens I have a pretty high tolerence to opiates because I used to abuse them somewhat, it's not that bad, I never had a long term script, it was mostly illegal pill buying, but that was my history years ago before I got married. So I took a couple of these pills without thinking much of it, and honestly since they didn't kick in right away I took a third. Then I see they are 7.5 mg percs instead of the usual 5 I get, so I took about 22 mg of percs in the last couple hours, and I had already taken my night time meds. I am now reading online that this combo is deadly, and I should be very afraid, but considering I have been taking these other pills for quite some time is it? It is okay to go to bed or should I try to stay up another 3 hours or so to be safe even though its 6am here now. :(

I'm so tired, but I saw all these posts that said if you mix benzos and oxys its a death sentence, but i have been taking benzos for years. I go through withdrawls without them, so I don't know if that applies to me. Thanks a word of confidence from someone makes me feel a little better. I should have thought things through more before popping 3 pills the dentist just jabbed me hard in the jaw yesterday with the needle and I can move my jaw, or sip water or anything without it killing me. And then he decided to do the root canal next week after he did that, so I have the tooth pain on top of where he jabbed me deep with the needle. Ugh so unprofessional. Thank you though, I will try to get some rest, I wanted my husband to check on me so I could feel better but one of us has to be sleeping, we have a child, to wake up with him in the morning, so I guess that's him due to the current situation!

That's what I figured, I have taken xanax for years, but only been on the restoril for the sleeping for a month, I was on ambien, but my tolerence got so built up it no longer did anything. This pill seems to work much better. But the Dr didn't like giving me two benzos even though I have panic attacks, and generalized anxiety disorder so I think it's probably better than the ambien for bed.

Thanks everyone, I feel better about going to bed now. My husband is absolutely no help to ask about these things he has never even drank a beer, so he is far from the expert and tends to jump to the worst conclusion and worry me more.

Ouch! That dentist should have been more careful. You have stayed awake through the temazepam so the other meds should help you get some rest. Since you already have an opiate tolerance, I think you will be ok. Good luck with the dentist next week!
