Hey Bluelighters (or is it Bluelightians? Bluelightners? Blue people?) I'm Rhinestone_Eyes and I'm really excited about being a new member here! Here's a little more about myself... I am eighteen (woo!) and currently enrolled in college, and happy that the Fall semester is almost over. I don't really see myself as a typical eighteen-year-old kid since I have a lot of weird and esoteric interests, like for example, I really love old French music like Edith Piaf and I love dancing the Charleston. To be honest, overall I'm an odd person, I'm not talking about schizo odd, I just tend to confuse the average person. I have some pretty unconventional ideas and beliefs, but I'm pretty certain that you guys might share some of them :) I have taken the MBTI, and received INFJ as a result so it's a given. I'm a crazy empathetic person so anyone needs a shoulder to cry on, you can always talk to me. Ironically, offline I'm extremely shy and reserved; I find it easy to be more like my true self online.

Anyway! Now on to my interests! I like flamingos, tumblr, 1920's slang (I do have to say that my 20's slang is the cat's pajamas), French music, theoretical physics, psychology, religion, silent movies, antique shopping, philosophy, particularly Nihilism, Absurdism, and Existentialism, tomatoes, optical illusions, drugs (obviously), and architecture. I like watching coffee brew, washers in action, and rain slowly falling down from the sky.

When I was a child, I used to talk to plants, like full-fledged conversations.

Obligatory music mention. Right now, I'm into a lot of indie, trance, and shoegaze music, but I'm open to all genres, and yes, that includes rap and country too! Some bands I'm really digging right now: Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Bjork, Edith Piaf, My Bloody Valentine, MGMT, Dash Berlin, Slowdive, m83, Boards of Canada, Cage the Elephant, etc.

Hi Rhinestone_Eyes, I also love "Indie" music. Animal collective has been one of my favorites for over a year (Fireworks is an awesome song =D), and i also picked up a new found interest in m83. Deer Hunter is also great. These 3 bands are like my playlist for the art studio. Do you like The Black Keys or Matt and Kim? Or some older throw backs such as: The Strokes( I <3) or The Kooks?


And I'm also a newly acquainted Bluelighter like yourself. XD

*faints* YESSSS! All the bands you listed are awesome especially The Strokes. I remember when I was younger and totally being amazed by how new and interesting their music was. I got my first eargasm when I heard "Juicebox" and ever since that event, it has always been my favorite Strokes song. Ironically, I used to despise Animal Collective but now I love the hell out of them, especially the song "Bluish"; it's a great song when you're lifted. Deerhunter is my love right now. Turn on some Weird Era Cont or Microcastle and just chill. The Black Keys are brilliant, don't they have an album coming out in a couple of days? I've only heard a few Kook songs but from what I have heard, they're pretty slamming.

Yay! :) Which forums have you been checking out?
 
Here? I check out OD forums and drug culture and a few others but mostly those two. Yea i love the Black Keys, their new album is going to be a little bit mainstream but their previous ones are epic; like the songs everlasting light, only one, and tighten up

It's a strange obsession. But we sure do have a lot of similar interests, glad you decided to come to Bluelight (And yes the term is Bluelighers ;) )
