I dont get it, i see here and there people talking about benzos such as alprazolam (xanax) and diazepam (vallium).
And they say it is hard to gethold of them. They are expensive. They are dangerous hard drugs.

Well, in my country i can tell you this.
Almost 1/3 of older people are taking a benzo to help them to get to sleep.
My father and mother take them. My uncles take thems. Friends of my family take them..
All you need is to go to a regular hospital, say you have trouble sleeping, relaxing or you are just anxious and they prescribe it to you, easy easy.

About the cost.
alprazolam (xanax) is the most expensive, 2-3euros a box, 60 pills of 1mg each.

I mean if you set in your mind "I want them" within 1hour and 5euros, you got them.
or even faster and cheaper just ask some1 if they could get you 1 to help you sleep..

So really my reality with benzos is so far way from the one i see especially in the United States where people buy them from dealers at a huge price.
I dont get it..
60 pills of 1mg of xanax is cheaper than a gram of hash.

Not really the place, nor message board, for this kind of chit chat.

Yeah and...? Everyone's country will have its cheap, easily obtained, intoxicants! In parts of Europe, Asia, and South America, you can get ninty percent of benzos OTC. Cocaine/weed in SA, heroin/meth in Asia, pain pills/heroin/crack/meth for the US.

Like Rybee said though, this board isn't really meant for this sort of discussion, DC is the only place I could see it, and even now I can't imagine it surviving really. You could always post it your blog though!

I'll bite. Spending months living/learning how to live in Mexico I knew how easily I could obtain benzos, multiple scripts from different doctors filled at different 'farmacias'. It was a hassle the first time to get some alprazolam and relatively expensive, but when I found out that clonazepam cost SIGNIFICANTLY less I got started on that. I'm a dual citizen but was born in the States.

Most people don't get hooked on benzos over there. I have a lot of anxiety at a baseline level and along with my grandfather dying and having to actually learn how to think in Spanish as opposed to English....I was a bit stressed. I have always loved benzos but I went on a spree of clonazepam, pregabalin, tramadol, alprazolam, gabapentin, caprisoprodol--not all benzos, I know... I went overboard as it goes, then withdrew from all gaba-ergics and it was fucking miserable. Small price to pay in the end for the experiences it allowed me to have. I felt so fucking free-there's nothing like it. Free of all anxiety which is what easily obtainable meds came out to.

My point is, because I loved benzos (not so much now as I know the cost) I don't understand how people don't eat them all the time. I learned that most people just learn how to deal with their shit, but the market for anxiety relief has got to be huge in Mexico. Life is hard, and sometimes shit's just plain fucked. They were so cheap too. I don't see how people don't go pac-man with them like I did. I suppose that many do take them regularly though, yet alcohol is just more acceptable in Mexico.

What country is OP from?

Europe dont really want to specify more the country.

Really? who's saying that benzos are hard to find... That's the furthest thing from the truth. Where I live, they're handed out as if it were some state law, everybody and their mother have at least one benzodiazepine prescription, if not 2, 3, 4, or even 5 benzodiazepine prescriptions.

Anyways, this is not OD material as it contributes nothing to harm reduction.
