Galloping horses gaining ground
hoofbeats in stereo
Charging mount,
take me away
from where
I've been all day.

And if you say,
please, reconsider, and stay
the time for that
was many moons ago
so say the runes;
easy for stones to say.

Be patient, they advise,
one day comes your time.
Walk your horse
at a slow gait
Little do they know
already I grow old
Opportunity passed me over
and did not wait.

So to this day
I care little
for what stones have to say.

This is beautiful, strong, hits a personal chord and frees semantic tension simultaneous.
