Galloping horses gaining ground
hoofbeats in stereo
Charging mount,
take me away
from where
I've been all day.

And if you say,
please, reconsider, and stay
the time for that
was many moons ago
so say the runes;
easy for stones to say.

Be patient, they advise,
one day comes your time.
Walk your horse
at a slow gait
Little do they know
already I grow old
Opportunity passed me over
and did not wait.

So to this day
I care little
for what stones have to say.

I loved the flow of this poem, the galloping horse imagery in the first stanza really set the mood for me, its like a free-spirited ballad, made me think of the druids and stuff because of the runes/stones reference. But then I somehow thought that 'stones' was a metaphor for something else, was it? Well, may be its just me... At any rate, very well-written piece that i enjoyed reading..

skjalff

btw, i kinda thought that the rithm of this was not unlike the hoofbeats (only somehow in mono ) =D
