I am
Watching a movie-boy's face crumple at the thought of his dead mother
And it strikes me now,
I have someone who will love me like that ...

I am
Standing over her bassinette as she sleeps
Watching her pale cheeks in the half light

I am
Prying her tiny complete fingers apart to see if the curves match mine

I am pinning socks on the washing line
Smaller than the peg

I am smelling her hair
instead of eating my dinner
Listening to her music ahhh from the monitors

I am exploding when I see her gummy grin

I am smiling when friends talk of going out and hitting it hard
It's another world
I've been to already

Here is amazingness they have yet to know

I am
a new mum.

The purity of this strikes me as interesting, never having experienced it before...a good read.:)

Smiles all round. :) I love the bit about the socks being smaller than the pegs!

It's incredible how tiny a sock can get. Thanks guys :) It isn't a masterpiece but it's one of those blurting ones I just had to get out... I don't think anyone can truly describe their love for their children.
