I am new but also asking if I can change my username?

hello all.

I am new here and been going through the board the last few days and finally made a name. I have always read the board when doing random google searching about various drug questions... which goes to show I am a drug user. I'll admit to that.
so I made a name tonight because we just had a blizzard in Boston and even found a post that just had to do w/ Boston and just my drug of choice.. so many it was meant to be.

question tho.. can I change my username? I just signed up and already realize I hate it and want a favorite song of mine and also much more relating. I am sure someone on here probably have it but I wanted to go with Junkhead or something close to that.

either way, I am looking forward to adding value, somehow, to the board and also chiming in w/ my own thoughts on various subjects; not just drug related. I am addicted to sports, much like I am drugs. I have a very addictive personality. I used to be on this underground message board out of NY and drugs and have over 40k posts there but have been a member since 2001. yes, thats how old I am and how long I have been using for. my drug of choice have always changed over the years but have been steady w/ opiates when I first came across them and now ONLY opiates, which is better than mixing party drugs and opiates like I once did way back for many years.

OK, so thats my intro. you can ask question. but if you can tell me about changing my name it would be great.

Thats actually pretty cool because that way not only would you be helping out BL and possibly MAPS but you get a username change. I was going to setup a new account to get rid of the one I have but didnt really want to start from scratch again, so I may go down this donation route....

thanks guy. still new here and getting ramped up. just realizing now i can prescribe to threads so i have an idea of where i last left off. do i have to do this separately in each one? not just a button i can click to always have it scripted? look at me saying scripted as if we are talking prescriptions, ha. must be the addict in me.

Anytime you post in a thread, you are automatically subscribed to it. You can see all the threads you have a scribed to under your "settings". From there you can unsubscribe from ones you don't want.
 
I just recently changed my username because I didn't like mine either...I was in a hurry to have a question answered when I first joined, and my mind was blank for usernames.

Since you don't have a ton of posts yet, Mr. S's suggestion of making a new account sounds like a great idea. I hadn't thought of that, and didn't realize it was allowed.

Yeah it's allowed. But you can't use both accounts. That is what isn't allowed. If you make a new one, you have to abandon the old one entirely.
 
i am not getting scripted to the threads i am posting in. thats a pain in the ass. i had to go into the thread and subscribe.
 
Yes, definately no using multiple accounts. It can be figured out 4ever, I'm sure. The mods are really helpful.

As others already perfectly explained, you have three options on dealing with your username.

1. Donate a fair amount towards a great cause to get your username changed, this charity will not go unoticed.

2. Just create a new account.

3. Keep the awesome name Stargazer.

How is Boston?
 
Why thankyou Cuhpcakes...^^ , but I didn't start this thread, so I'm kind of confused. So, I'll just take the kind words, and say "thankyou" :)

PS...I was a little out of it when I responded to this...and didn't even notice the line...good stuff obviously.

Ahhh thanks for that, Mr.scag. I always wondered why some usernames had lines through them. I always just assumed that accounts that were abandoned, so to speak, were simply deleted, as doesn't it clog up space on the server? Anyhow there is no point my saying "Welcome to Bluelight" on this thread now. Pity lol well it's there for any new members that I have not said it to anyway hehe :)

PS: A few people have used the name 'Stargazer' in various places I've known. It's ace! But where's it from????
 
Eveleivibe...it's the title of one of my favorite songs (by Mother Love Bone). Check them out...."Chloe Dancer" "Crown of Thorns" "Bone China", etc etc....Stargazer was the first song I heard by them, and got me hooked...they're intertwined w Pearl Jam and SoundGarden, all friends. Some really damn talented friends. Andrew Wood RIP.

Love Mother Love Bone. One of the best grunge bands of the 90's. Wish Wood had lived so their career could have been longer.
 
Mr. Scag...you are kidding me!! I rarely find someone that's heard of Mother Love Bone, let alone loves them. Me too!! Big time....wore the CD out more than once.

It is sad about Andrew Wood....such a talented, unique lyricist and musician. I would've loved to see what more they would've came out with.

When Eddie Vedder sings "Crown of Thorns", and he always does w humility, strikes a chord in my heart, as I know this loss deeply affected "Seattle Sound". Wow, nice to have found another MLB fan.
