:) hey... i just had an insight into something that has to beconsidered when thinking about addiction.....

Over the last 2 weeks All I did was either study or hang around in Bluelight or the net reading through anything I could find on LSD.... I thought about it when walking to the next lecture.... dreamt about it in the night.... came to theories and even more questions about it.. cheched my threads for new posts like 15 times a day.. and my life currently evolves around the topic LSD....

Seems like the basic situation when strongly mentally addicted to a drug.... and if your frinds see you like this... they think you are far beyond help....

Now here is the weird thing..... I have never tried it.... nor any other drug... (except E on one occasion, pot on the other..... all long ago....thats it)

So my conclusion is that not all that looks like and shows all indication of mental addiction is true mental addiction.... but might just be strong interest... like in my case....

I just thought I share my non-drug induced insight with you! :)

and write many posts.. I will be checking again within the next half hour! :)

dimitri9, I had a friend once who was in the same situation you are in. He was totally obsessed about LSD and would constantly ask about it, even though he had never done it. Finally one day he figured he'd try it. But the day before the planned trip, he had a psychotic break and had to be institutionalized. He's been locked up in mental hospital ever since, and never did get to try the LSD. According to his family and the staff at the mental hospital he's still obsessed over it though. I hope you don't end up like him :)

:) no.. its not an obsession... just an interest about it... I was not saying i cannot live without it.. I was just saying that interest could be interpreted as addiction..

I could see it being a pretty damn interesting thing, especially if you've never done it. I mean look at the history of it, controversy, etc. There's a lot of mystery there for someone thats never done it, and even more for those that have.

my friend, you are not addicted you are fascinated! and for good reason! Lsd-25 is a very fascinating substance. The only drug active in the body in millionths of a gram, and with such dramatic effects! my advice to you is to please stay away from drugs like ecstacy and open your eyes with some lucy. I was in a similar situation as you, fascinated with Lsd, but constantly doing drugs like cocaine, speed and ecstacy. my life has made a huge turn for the better once I quit the bad drugs, limiting myself to Lsd, occassional mushrooms, and DMT. oh, and who could forget my life partner, MaryJane.

Go do some more reading on the subject before you keep spreading false information like this. LSD 25 is only one of many substances active in the microgram range: ALD-52, fentanyl and zanax just to name a few.

Back to the topic, you are obsessed, not addicted. There is definatly a diffence which you hopefully will never have to fully understand.

I don't believe you are addicted to LSD. I have had extremely strong psychological addiction to Opioids and Amphetamines, and I have had the same feelings you are having. They are nothing alike. I do have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I am deeping into studying all psychedelic drugs. It is actually a positive thing for me. I have been able to get away from the "revolving my life around psychedelics" thing though. You need to really space out your trips, and also work on having a very positive social life. Don't get stuck in "Acid space."

my life "revolved around psychedelics" for a long time. it's not the greatest thing, but it could've been worse. now i have a much more healthy drug view.

I have never done LSD, although I would like to, I don't really know if I want to at this point in my life. I do experiment with Shrooms and Salvia though. I think you can learn alot from psychedelics. I have been reading alot of information on LSD and other psychedelics over the past week. Very interesting stuff.

more interesting than lsd? well i think that's a pretty stupid ass remark. mostly because how can you compare one psychedelic to another in a way that would give you a qualitative measure as to which is "better" or "more interesting"? you can't.

and maybe you don't know lsd well enough because there are few substances i can think of that have such a range of effects, and trips that can vary from giddy have a good time to intense introspective life-changing journeys.

i didnt mean it like that. they are more intriguing because there is little known. and because there are so many others. what about other LSDs? see what im sayin?

well i can see how those other psychedelics might have more "interest", but honestly, none of them that i've tried have ever given me an experience anywhere near the magnitude of a high dose acid trip. last weekend i dosed 30 mg's of 2ci, and was relatively unimpressed. i also smoked some DPT along with it, which was pretty fun in itself, but it only lasted for about a half hour or so, then the next two hours felt like the comedown off a roll.

2cc was a total letdown, and it's completely impractical considering the huge dose you have to take to achieve truly psychoactive affects. i've done this too, and found it extremely lame.

2ce i've also done, a couple times, and i did get "decent" visuals for a little while (perhaps for about an hour during the peak), but i found my state of mind pretty much unaltered, and i found myself wanting something more.something like acid.

i've done more research chems than this... the one that i was truly impressed with was 5-MeO-DMT (if you can call that an RC). That was mindblowing, and had unique charecteristics that left me "satisfied" with the drug. i've done a couple others, all of them at the normal dosage range, and i personally found them all sub-par to chems like LSD and Psilocybin, and DMT. They never really 'get me there' as well as the classic trips do. I'm not all that interested in them anymore.

I have never done meth, and read into it so much and been around who have done it, that I'm going through all this withdrawal until I can get my hands on some. Odd, ain't it?

I strongly dissagree with this. LSD is fun, but I don't hold it as the benchmark that all other psychedelics must live up to. Besides if want shear magnitude in a trip, dpt has plenty of it if you take it right...

I think his point was that LSD is among the more interesting psychedelics...

read all you want I was really interested in all drugs for a year or so before really doing any of them.
Be careful not to build up expectations to much about anything in particular if you're gonna do them, they are just different from what you expect imo.

And do not think that you really know anything about drugs until you have done them a few times (this is just my opinion; but I stand by it quiet strongly).

It is also worth taking the attitude of 'seeing where things take you, just going along the journey' as well as wishing to learn more.
I used to take a much more serious attitude towards drugs than my friends who would do them for fun, but now I think they were right in many ways.

Have fun :) (whatever you do)
