Hello all,

I am a young professional with a horrible anxiety condition. I have tried SSRI's, CBT, shrinks; I have tried the lot!
I have come here to seek advice info on medications which actually work for chronic anxiety conditions and social phobia.

I currently take Lexapro 30mg and about 20mg of Valium a day. I am also experimenting with Lyrica.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER MEDS THAT SUCCESSFULLY TREAT CHRONIC ANXIETY CONDITIONS SUCH AS MINE.

Thank you for inviting me to the forum :)

Sounds like it's pretty bad...for me, benzos (not actually prescribed) worked, very short term, but ended up making it worse as my tolerance built up very quickly, and I would not recommend them. I tried Valium, Temazepam and Xanax...Xanax was far and away the best though.
Probably not a popular suggestion, but for anxiety cannabis seems to be the best, but it is very strain dependent. Some are very very good for my anxiety, but the wrong one just sets it off...I hope you find something that helps.
Meditation (just try it, no need to follow a particular school, just relax and try to focus/not focus on "nothing").

ps. I have been prescribed a lot of SSRIs, tricyclics, MAOIs, many antipsychotics, mood stabilizers and other misc shit...not all necessarily for anxiety/social phobia but that was a big part of my problems. That and severe depression.

Phenibut.

Phenibut is the best thing I've found although you can't use it every day without it losing it's magic (as well as causing horrible, horrible withdrawals)
