Hey everyone.

I have started snorting heroin about a month and one week ago. I used to do about a half bag a day and now its 2 - 3 bags per day and growing higher.

I really want to switch back to "occasional/party" user but am very scared of withdrawals.

How strong would my addiction be at this point?
And what would you advice to get off it for now?
I dont have an addictive personality therefor i wont have psychological addiction issues. My only concern is the physical.

A few weeks back i wanted to take a break because i had scratches all over my body from itching at night and they wouldn't heal. And during that time i was feeling really terrible. Very bad anxieties, Shacking, Running nose, extremely watery eyes, and just uncomfortable in my own body. And i could stay awake i slept for 2 days.

It was too much for me so i gave up on that idea and did another line.
I havent tried quitting since then.

And now i am preparing for my traveling which is in one month. And i have to quit before that as i will be going to a few countries abroad and will not take it with me on the plane.

What would be your advice on quitting?
Also how bad will my withdrawals be so i am prepared?
And what are the ways of avoiding the withdrawals?

P.S. i have some suboxyn pills i was thinking to use.
<3

they shouldnt be tooooo bad; expect aches and pains, diarhhoea, runny nose and anxiety.

wait til the withdrawals start, then take 2mg sub: dropping the dose gradually until youre on like 0.2mg, then hop off. benzos (valium, temazepam, clonazepam) will work wonders for the anxiety.

just gut it out; as you say, if you dont have an addictive personality you only have to get through 3 days or so of pain. get some immodium (loperamide) for the shits.
ibuprofen, paracetamol, co-codamol all will help with the pain of withdrawal.

if i were you, after that, i wouldnt touch heroin again: many people have said they can go the whole recreational route, but few can. if not then only like once every few months or something.
good luck my dear fellow x

Were you not using opiates prior to your heroin use? If it's just a month they won't be to bad, suck it up and get it over now, while you can...

Based on how much and how long you're using, they won't be insufferable. You could get through them cold turkey, which is what I'd recommend. It'll be the fastest way out, you'll get an idea of what to expect if you continue down this road, and the likely hood of success is higher than if you were to try to taper(at least IME).

Good luck.

Swims WD kit: Immodium, tylenol/asprin, Benedryl, Water, Fruits & Vegetables.

I have been in that situation so many times, the dope rolle rcoaster. It never gets any better, my advice would be if you can quit quit now. Im in a miserable state right now, been 2 days since opiates and I feel like I am dying...

i find diphenhydromine helps opiate withdrawn a bit. and i'm quite sure benzos will help , but never tried, with my tolerance, kratom helps (mang da kratom) only one i've used.

Edit: got to have some Immodium ^ kratom also helps with this aspect of withdraw

Pain :|

MAJ - Did you not find that Diphenhydramine made RLS (Restless Limb Syndrome) worse?
I can't take any Antihistamines or my Antidepressant (Dosulepin) because of it worsening RLS quite badly during withdrawals. I need to atleast have ~120mg of Codeine in me and then I'm only able to take 1 tablets (75mg) instead of my scripted 3.

Kratom's a very good idea though :)

Anyway, to the OP:

After a month the withdrawals won't be as bad as they could be. I think the fear of withdrawals is making you think that they're going to be worse than they actually are.
Experiencing them for first time will have been a bit of a shock and I think this is what's worrying you.

If you can get some Co-Codamol to do Cold Water Extractions on then using that for a week or so, gradually tapering the dose down with them, will help massively.
If not then some Immodium and as many Benzos as you can get hold of (as mentioned) will help massively also.
Exercise to get Endorphins pumping and eat lots of nice, healthy food to get other Monoamines being produced ;)

the fear of wd's, for me, is ALWAYS worse than they actually are. we're humans and as fragile as we are, we can certainly endure some temporary discomfort for the trash we enjoy putting in our bodies so unreluctantly. just tell yourself, "It's not gonna be that bad." the anxiety is half the battle and that should help a lot along with immodium and someone to hold on to your money so you can't score more dope.

peace

Thank you guys you all rock!
I feel better about doing this now.

Ill post back in a few days when suboxon arrives and i get all the other stuff suggested and start the process

xo

Oh and to the question of wether ive used opiates before. I have used oxycontine but not daily. Just for nights out never had any withdrawals from it but would randomly get seizures so im guessing im allergic to it there for i stopped and 8 month later tried H

Yup yup, exactly. A great deal of people mention that the fear of the withdrawals instead of the withdrawals themselves is what prevents them from going ahead with trying to stop.
I don't blame them, but in the end you've just got to "pull yer socks up" and get down to it :)

Good to hear yer feeling better about it now :)
With some Subs in your possession things should be a lot easier ;)
Just take the smallest dose you can (0.5-1mg should do the trick) and space this out as much as you can. You may be able to take it once every 2 days and rely on a sedative at night to help you get some sleep (the worst bit for me - the Insomnia).

Good luck!

I found that hot baths really help. lay in the tub for as long as u can. also stay hydrated. I also like to do anything I can to get out of the house and stay occupied, helps with the anxiety and that "every second lasts a day" feeling.

i dont think youll need subs. Id just try to go as long as possible and if it gets too bad do a little line and then wait as long as you can again. Either that or do like half a bag a night for a few days, then a third, then a quarter, then done. At least that way youll have a shot at sleeping which will make you feel way better.

those suboxone's will save your ass for a little while.use a quarter of a 8 mg one and you'll be col for the day

agree with nearly all ya said defo best way to get off it but might need to start on higher dose of burp like bout 4mg and taking co-codamol while on burp and trying to kick habbit is not good idea as your trying to get all the short acting opiates like codine out of your system and replacing them with a far longer acting opiate to help you come down smoothly and slowly back to heroin free world (or part time).

If you can get some sub I would recommend that but if not I have found that Kratom works excellent. It is what I use for a make-shift maintenance program when the sources dry up. Best of luck though, the sooner you get it under control the better.

JESUS CHRIST... please tell me you're not considering to continue your daily dope habit just to avoid WD's?!?!?!?!? I am sorry if it seems rude but i want to get the point across here... whatever physical WDs you get by ceasing daily use are unbelievably minor and workable compared to what it will be a few months---> years from now!!!

There may be some minor discomfort but *please* believe me when I say it's worth it... you are at a critical juncture now. If you don't slow things down now they will snowball faster than you can believe within a few months... and then there's no turning back without a major crisis on your hand!!

That's all I wanted to say. Also, you DO NOT NEED an addictive personality to get hooked on heroin... or any strong opiate for that matter, take it from me. If you've only been using just over a month you also gotta be careful with the suboxone, daily use might seem too attractive and your habit just is not that bad right now to need more than a week's taper TOPS!! You have been warned my friend.
